The Joy of Reflecting…

The Song of Solomon is a love song about God and us, the Bridegroom and the Bride. In the Song of Songs the bride is described as being as beautiful as the moon.

How is the moon beautiful? The moon is beautiful in that it shines with the light of the sun by reflecting the light that is greater than itself. So it is with the moon, so it is with the Bride. How are we beautiful?

Are we beautiful in ourselves? No. We become beautiful by becoming beautiful like the moon. You become beautiful by forgetting about yourself and seek instead to reflect the light of Him who is greater.

You become holy by seeing His holiness and reflecting it. You become loving by receiving His love and giving what you have received. You become godly by receiving the radiance of God and shining with it to all around you.

So it is written, “The Lord cause His face to shine upon you…” Why? So your face can also shine with His light. So get into the joy of reflecting the ministry of the moon, for then you will shine with the beauty of the Son.

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. Psalm 67:1-2

Get into the joy of losing yourself in the beauty of His radiance – and shine the glory.
