Gentleness

17 Jul

Our Country, as like the rest of the world, is broken. It is filled with violence and killings. The time has come for us to turn this around, but how we do it depends on how well you follow your Christian teachings.
Proverbs 15:1 Teaches us that a soft word turns away wrath and that responding to evil with evil only brings more evil.
Time and time again we have watched people respond to violence with more violence and what has it gotten us? More violence! When will we as Christians wake up and respond to this?
First Timothy chapter 6 teaches us to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness and gentleness. We are to do these things at all times using gentleness to turn wrath around and to bring peace to our lives as well as to others.
Our political leaders, in the name of National Security, have mistakenly given a wide path for our law enforcement officers to follow. This has allowed them too much leeway on how they interpret the law. Some have gone over board and as a result violence has blossomed.
There really is no right or wrong here, what we have is everyone pushing the limits of everyone else’s patience. The law is the law and we, as citizens, are required to follow it and the law enforcement officers are to enforce it. The hard part is how we and they do it.

The answer is gentleness and respect! Today, to me, it seems people have lost respect for their fellow man and as a result respect for themselves. Jesus teaches us that gentleness and love will win over the harshest foe. A kind approach, a gentle response and a warm smile will go a long way to cool off a hot situation.

We are the light at the end of a long tunnel. Gentleness and love are the answers to end this violence and hate that has engulfed our nation and world. You are the first step! Will you light your candle and begin the journey to right the wrongs?

Join with me to begin to turn all this around.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love,
