The Revolutionary

14 Apr

The Revolutionary…

Revolutionaries are single-minded people; completely focused on the revolution. Everything Lenin, Mao and Castro did had purpose and direction. Though it was wrong, they had focus. Most believers aren’t.

They are apathetic or lukewarm about serving God. They tend to be willing to serve God, but pre-occupied with the details of life; divided in their hearts. They want to live for God, but are living for themselves.

They want to witness but are more concerned about what people think of them. But if Lenin, Trotsky or Mao were like that, they wouldn’t have had a revolution, nor a victory. If they were focused on wrong purposes, how much more should we who have God be focused on God’s purposes?

We are the true revolutionaries. We are to be the most focused people, to run the race fixing our eyes on Yeshua, Jesus. Paul said, I don’t run without aim, and he changed the world. You too can change the world.

Commit your heart and mind to become once and for all single-minded for God, one-tracked, focused, and you will overcome the world. You are a revolutionary. The revolution is waiting to begin.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, Hebrews 12:1

Live today as a revolutionary for God – live focused on God’s mission, and fulfill it.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Patience – Whose Cup Runs Over (4/13)

13 Apr

Patience – Whose Cup Runs Over…

Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud. It does not dishonor others; it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Patience implies suffering, enduring, or waiting, as a determination of the will and not simply under necessity. As such, it is an essential Christian virtue to the exercise of which there are many exhortations. We need to “wait patiently” for God, to endure uncomplainingly the various forms of sufferings, wrongs and evils that we meet with, and to bear patiently injustices which we cannot remedy and provocations we cannot remove.

If you’ve ever been chased around the dining room table by a parent, most likely it wasn’t your mother, but your father. My father would count up to three. My mother would count up to three thousand and beyond. In fact, she’s still counting. A mother’s love is a picture of the love of God.

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
2 Timothy 4:2

Often, we picture God as a severe judge ready to lose his temper, but the truth is, the love of God is as compassionate and tender as the love of a mother, only more so. And that means He must be very patient. In fact, the Bible says that the reason the age has gone on so long is solely because of the patience of God for people to repent and get saved.

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:25

Thank God that He’s patient, and that He puts up with you and me and all of us. What should that make us do? It should make us all the more zealous to bless Him, to please Him, and to make Him smile. God has the patience of a saint. And even more than a saint, He has the patience of a mother, and even more than that. And in that is our salvation.

Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37

Make it your aim in life to bless God, to please Him, and to make Him smile. We can do that by learning to be patient and trust in Him.

The Spirit Step

13 Apr

The Spirit Step…

Pentecost; it’s the Hebrew Shavuot. It’s the feast of the harvest, the feast of the Spirit. The disciples were waiting. The gathering of the apostles in Jerusalem is the ultimate example of the conditions that need to be met in our lives; in living a life that is open and filled with the Spirit.

It represented their great stepping out. Their rabbi was gone, and now they are stepping out into the future. It was the moment they broke with the past. Instead of being in Galilee, their home, they left their jobs and daily lives all behind.

They were now ready to go wherever God would send them. That’s when the Spirit came with its power. The gospel is now complete and Acts is about to begin; having received the gospel, they now have to step out.

Step out in the Word, step out in faith, step out in love, and step out in ministry. Step out in obeying what you have not obeyed so far; and the blessing will come and the breakthrough and the power of the Holy Spirit will come upon you, because the Spirit comes when His people step out.

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things. 1 Peter 1:12

Today, open yourself up to the leadings of the Holy Spirit. Let Him guide you through your walk in faith.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Book Of Oracles

12 Apr

The Book Of Oracles…

The world is very desperate for any kind of guidance, any shred of revelation or spirituality. People go to horoscopes and fortune tellers, only to end up being darker and more lost than they were before. Even some believers fall into that deception.

The Lord is definitely able to speak supernaturally to us, to guide us, encourage us, correct us and lead us in all sorts of divine ways. We are His children; our Father is more than glad to communicate with us directly and regularly. We don’t need to be begging for crumbs of guidance when God has given us a banquet.

The banquet is the Word of God. You have all you need to know God’s will. It is the Book of Oracles. His supernatural revelation, His prophecies, His actual word for your life.

Don’t go running around seeking a prophet, or a sign from a cloud formation, or a license plate. Open the Book today and find God’s divine revelation for your life and follow it.

Do it, obey it, and God will speak, because He has given you the greatest of treasures–all His oracles right at your fingertips.

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians 3:16

Open your day in prayer today, spend time to read His Holy Scriptures and listen for His word, then follow Him.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Worship Weapon

11 Apr

The Worship Weapon…

They’re the most powerful of weapons, but rarely used. They can vanquish the greatest of earthly foes. They can subdue an army, even give victory, but most believers rarely use them; even when they are needed the most.

What are these weapons? The Bible speaks about King Jehoshaphat being led into a battle in which his army was outnumbered. But instead of fighting with regular weapons of war, Jehoshaphat commanded his army to fight with worship and praise. And when they did, the army of Judah won the war.

You see, King Jehoshaphat knew something most believers don’t know, that praise and worship are powerful weapons. Most believers use praise and worship in times of peace. But the real key is to use them in times of war.

It’s when you’re in the midst of battle and there is worry, unrest, conflict, doubt, fear and anxiety that you need to use these most powerful weapons. Praise and worship God in the battle, and during the fight.

When it’s hardest to praise Him, praise Him anyway. You will win the battle because praise and worship are not just for peace; they are weapons of war.

Sovereign LORD, my strong deliverer, you shield my head in the day of battle. Psalm 140:7

Today commit to fighting your spiritual battles with the weapon of praise, praise Him all through the day, no matter what, and until you have the victory.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Israelites Never Watched The Ten Commandments

10 Apr

The Israelites Never Watched The Ten Commandments…

When the Israelites came out of Egypt and dwelled in the desert, what did they do at night in Sinai? Did they have movie night? Did they have a big screen and sit around watching the Ten Commandments?

The Israelites didn’t watch the Ten Commandments because they lived it. The shepherds didn’t put on a Christmas play, because they were the Christmas play. The disciples didn’t commemorate Resurrection Sunday, because it was Resurrection Sunday.

We also, are supposed to be biblical characters! One of the secrets of becoming a biblical character is that you don’t speak about the Bible just as something from the past, but Bible times are also now. You are living the resurrection now.

Today is Bethlehem, now is Jesus, today is Resurrection Sunday. Today is Pentecost, the power to go out to all nations. Live the power of God. Move in His power today and in the Spirit.

Go out in the power of the Great Commission; be a biblical character. More importantly, be of biblical character. Live as if the Bible is now, because it is.

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:11-12

Today, read the Bible; but don’t just read the Bible. Live the Bible; live your day as if you were in the Bible.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Every Problem Has A Nose

9 Apr

Every Problem Has A Nose…

Every problem has a nose. Let me explain. Jerusalem was surrounded and under siege by the Assyrian army. It looked like certain destruction; there was no way out. King Hezekiah took the matter to the Lord in prayer.

The Lord answered and said regarding the Assyrian king, “Because of your raging against me and because your arrogance has come up to my ears; therefore, I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips and I will turn you back by the way you came.”

Maybe, you’ve been feeling under siege lately. Why has God allowed it? Perhaps to strengthen your faith. God at times, allows your faith to be challenged so that He may show you that He is God Almighty.

God wants to show you that not only is He Lord despite the problem, but He is Lord over the problem! Even the problem is subject to Him! Bring your problem to God.

He’ll use a hook and a bridle to turn that problem around for His glory, and actually bless you. So don’t despair. Rejoice and give thanks! God has the hook, and every problem has a nose.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Come to the throne of God and give Him your burdens today. Stop worrying. Pray to the Lord to take your problem by the nose and turn it around for His glory.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Upward Call

8 Apr

The Upward Call…

Many believers talk about being called. They will say, “I know I am called or being called; God is calling me or there is a calling on my life.” Imagine, there is someone outside your house saying, “come on out!”

The person sitting inside says, “I know I am being called, someone is calling me,” but they don’t answer. Another person in a room hears the phone ringing. The person says, “someone is calling or I am being called. I know I am being called,” but they don’t answer the phone.

That would be crazy, but no crazier than when believers spend their life talking or thinking about being called, but doing nothing. To be called is to be called to something, to move somewhere to respond. You have to answer that call, or that calling means nothing.

If you are a believer, you are being called, and the first step is to begin by answering that call. God called His people throughout the Bible, but you only read about those who became heroes and heroines, those who answered the call. No calling is complete until you answer it.

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 2 Timothy 1:9

Answer God’s calling on your life today. Take action to serve Him where He is moving you.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Heaven Through The Branches

7 Apr

Heaven Throufh the Branches…

Every year in autumn, the children of Israel celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. During the Feast of Tabernacles, Jewish people were required to live in sukkahs.

These were huts, made of branches and fruit. Each sukkah had to be constructed so that you could see the stars of heaven through the branches of its roof. Their homes were much more comfortable than their sukkahs.

They were solid with no gaps to see the heavens. The sukkah was humble, but it was opened up to heaven. It’s easy to get comfortable in your life to the point where you can’t see heaven anymore – so that you don’t rely on the Lord. You stopped leaning on the Lord.

You’ve put a real solid roof over your head and over your relationship with God. Your routine, busyness, security have formed a roof over your head that’s blocking you from relating to God as you used to. Break open the roof.

Come back to the simplicity of your faith, as when you first came to the Lord, with nothing. Simplify your walk and heart so that you might again see the stars through the branches.

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. Psalm 63:1

Today, break through the barriers that separate you from God. Open up your heart so that you can clearly see Him.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Into the Deep

6 Apr

Into the Deep…

During the Hebrew Feast of Tabernacles, Jewish people took part in the Water Drawing Ceremony. They’d draw water from the Pool of Siloam and bring it up to the Temple Mount. They’d pour out and recite Isaiah 12, “And in joy you shall draw waters from the wells of salvation,” or the wells of Y’shua.

This is the same word as Yeshua, Jesus’ real name. It’s very likely that at this moment, when the water was being poured out during the Feast of Tabernacles, that Jesus said, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, from his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.”

Jesus’ speaking about WELL WATER – the kind of water spoken of at Tabernacles. “INNERMOST” is important. Well water comes from INSIDE. The abundant life God has for you wells up from inside. Stop seeking to be filled up from the outside in; by money and things.

Seek to be filled from the inside out, from the love of God in your heart. The true rivers of living water flow from a well of salvation, the well of Yeshua.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

Be filled with God’s love deep in your soul and let that love pour out of you in acts of kindness today, giving freely and mightily in His name.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed
