The Two Sons of Benjamin

17 Jul

The Two Sons of Benjamin…

In the Book of Esther, Mordecai and Esther overcame Haman’s plot to destroy the Jewish people. King Saul was told to destroy King Agag and his house.

Saul didn’t and lost the kingdom. Prophet Samuel fulfilled what Saul left unfinished. Somehow, one of Agag’s sons escaped. In Esther, Haman – the AGAGITE – descendant of Agag, rose to power. Because Saul failed to end the house of Agag, the house of Agag would rise and set out to destroy the entire Jewish people in Persia.

Esther and Mordecai, from the Tribe of Benjamin, the tribe Saul was from, rose to fulfill the calling that Saul never did. It was the second showdown of Benjamin and Agag. The odds were stacked against Benjamin. Yet Agag was defeated. By failing to fulfill his calling Saul lost the crown. By obeying the calling, Mordecai was given a crown.

God has a calling on your life. Others can do the job if you won’t, but you’ll forfeit the purpose of your life. Take the step you need to take – you’ll receive your crown and Agag will be defeated under your feet.

The Spirit of Continuing

16 Jul

The Spirot of Continuing…

How do you receive the fullness and the empowerment of the Spirit? Jesus said, “Tarry in Jerusalem.” “Tarry” in Greek is kathizo, meaning “to stay”, “to continue”. The disciples had to stay in Jerusalem, in God’s presence, in His will.

If they only stayed four days instead of 10, and if they hadn’t continued with Jesus during difficult times, they would never had gone to the upper room and received their blessing.

Therefore, if you want the fullness and the power of the Spirit, you have to have kathizo. You have to stay in the will of God. If you waiver, you won’t know His fullness and strength. Consistency in God is very spiritual.

Many people give up before they get the blessing. The secret of receiving the blessing in the Spirit is to tarry. They didn’t just go to the upper room and then get the blessing; they had to stay and persevere before they saw anything.

The Spirit life is about abiding, persevering, continuing. You want to see the blessing? Continue on in the will and calling of God. He will come to you to fill your life with fullness and power.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Be faithful and steadfast in your pursuit of God’s will for you today; dwell and abide in His presence, pushing through in His fullness for you.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Dimentions Of The Wind

15 Jul

The Dimensions Of The Wind…

When I was a junior in high school, I took mechanical drawing. You had to draw the same object from three different views to obtain three different dimensions – height, width and depth.

When you read the Book of Exodus, the instructions for the tabernacle are filled with dimensions- the cubits height, width and length. The Old Covenant had many dimensions because it was based up tablets.

When the New Covenant came and the Spirit came on Pentecost, that very same day, there were no longer any dimensions. When you live in the flesh, you are limited by your own understanding, your abilities or your strength.

The Spirit has no dimensions, no measurements, and no limits. There is no limit to His mercy or His love, or His wisdom, or His power. When you live by the Spirit, you can do all things through Jesus. Enter the dimension of the Spirit and your life will become unlimited. because the Spirit, like the wind, has no measurements.

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. John 3:6-8

Enter into the unlimited power of the Spirit today. Let the Spirit move you past the barriers of the flesh and the limitations- to living in His limitlessness.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Face In The Jewelry

14 Jul

The Face In The Jewelry…

I heard a story about a saint of God, Sabina Wurmbrand, the wife of Richard Wurmbrand. They were Jewish believers and leaders of the underground church in Romania. In their last days, Sabina was in a hospital in Mexico.

She shared a story with us who were at her bedside. Before in Romania, before she knew the Lord, Sabina brought her jewelry to a jeweler for repair. When the jeweler, placed it in the fire, she panicked. He reassured her, “Trust me. I am a master at it.”

He explained that the jewelry had to go in the fire until he sees his face in it. While in pain, she said to the Lord, “I can’t take much more.” Then the words of the jeweler resonated in her mind, “You must go through the fire, and you will be finished when I can see my face reflected in your image.”

After that, she was in peace and went home to be with the Lord. When you go through your trial, there is purpose. So that God can see in your life the reflection of His glory; because you are His jewel, and He is your Master Jeweler.

These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:7

Give yourself completely to the Master, let Him work in you through life’s trials to refine you- make it your aim to purely reflect His face to others.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Snake Bite (7/13)

13 Jul

The Snake Bite…

Grandfather and I were hiking one our favorite trails in the canyon when we came upon a rattlesnake. Grandfather swiftly cleared it from the trail, then started talking about the rattlesnake.

Rattlesnakes are one of the deadliest snakes in the world, he said, one bit a sheep in the face, the sheep’s face swelled up and she was in pain, but the blood that flows through the sheep is anti-venom blood, used in aquiring protection.

The sheep’s face swelled and the bite was painful, but the blood of the lamb destroyed the venom of the serpent. She kept eating, drinking, and living, because she was covered.

Often the serpents of this life will reach out and work into us but they cannot overcome the Blood of the Lamb of God that washes away the sin of the world and the sting of death. Don’t worry about the serpent or his bite, just make sure the Lamb’s Blood is flowing through your veins.

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:14-16

While the serpent is not expressly linked with Satan in the Genesis story, a number of New Testament authors both directly and indirectly state that it was Satan who seduced Adam and Eve into sin. The serpent became the emblem of the spirit of evil throughout the East as a result of the tradition of the fall of mankind, and so the wicked and enemies in general are often likened to venomous serpents.

When we became God’s children, He told us that Satan would constantly tempt us and that we should tell him to get behind us and leave us be. Our job, as Christians is to shine our light and share His word and blessings. Yes, that can be hard, especially in today’s world, but He is always with us and will protect us from evil if we stay on His path.

I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Matthew 10:16

Many times I hear people ask why me, when they should be praising His name for all the blessing He has given them. We need to remember that as long as we have the Lambs Blood flowing through us, we don’t have to worry about the serpent or his bite.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Ministry of The Prisoner

13 Jul

The Ministry of The Prisoner…

A believer, whose heart was to preach the gospel, was put in prison. If he knew he would reach far more people, and win far more souls to God inside the jail than outside, it would be hard for him to believe.

He was more used of God inside his jail cell than out. The man was the Apostle Paul. He was in prison, and couldn’t reach anyone. So, he was forced to write. Because he wrote, he reached not thousands, not millions, but billions. Despite his circumstance, the Gospel wasn’t changed.

The same for you. You might think your best days in God are over, that you can’t minister or glorify God because of that situation that’s hindering you. Remember the man in jail. There is no chain strong enough to stop the Gospel or His purposes. Don’t wait for your situation to change.

Glorify Him now in your situation. Praise Him, serve Him, do His will right where you are, and you will find, like Paul, the Gospel is not bound, nor is His calling on your life. You might find that what you thought was a hindrance, was actually your greatest ministry.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing(B) and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 2 Timothy 4:1-2

Minister where you are today. Don’t wait for your circumstances to change; God is able to use you right where you are for His glory.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Tombs and Snakes

12 Jul

Tombs and Snakes…

The Bible speaks of the enemy as a snake. So I did some research on snakes and learned that a key to avoiding a snake bite is to avoid snake habitats, places like caves or open tombs. Now I’ve made it a policy to avoid open tombs.

Do you also want to avoid being bitten by a snake? Then avoid dark places where they hang out. Spiritually this means avoiding places of death. If you don’t want the enemy to bite you, avoid open tombs.

Even if the tomb has a welcome mat and someone inside saying ‘Come on in!’ Stay away. There’s only death inside. What are the open tombs in our lives? Gossip is an open tomb. Bitterness, unforgiveness and self-pity are all open tombs.

Pride, self-indulgence, adult entertainment, ungodly attitudes… all open tombs. Stop hanging out in these places because the enemy is waiting there to attack and ensnare you. So avoid dead places and dead situations.

Even avoid dead thoughts and thoughts of dead things. Instead, get into life, the things of life, and the way of life. As you do, you’ll avoid hanging out in open tombs.

Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. Proverbs 4:14-15

Be as a child of the Light living a life of Godly attitudes. Run away from enticing traps of the flesh and avoid the spiritually dark things of this world.

The Dark Witness

11 Jul

The Dark Witness…

For 2,000 years the great stain of anti-Semitism has caused Jewish people to be hated, persecuted, plundered, vilified, denigrated, wounded, killed, and massacred. The greatest evil the world has ever known, namely Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich, was devoted to the destruction of the Jewish people.

And yet, they have not perished; they have survived. If you take a closer look, you’ll recognize that something supernatural is happening, something unique about the Jewish people, something so special that all the forces of hell are arrayed against them.

If the darkness is so great against the Jewish people, then they must be in some way greatly linked to the light. Darkness doesn’t disprove the light, it proves it. And so it is with you.

Every adversity, every attack, every setback that has happened in your life should not discourage you, if you are following God. It’s a witness that God’s light is in you. He calls you “light of the world, salt of the earth, overcomer and more than a conqueror!” And it is so!

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21

The Beast of a Thousand Faces You are called to be a witness to all people and to be the salt and light of Jesus. Let God’s light shine from within you today!

The Direction Of Love

10 Jul

The Direction Of Love….

Where are you headed? Does your life have direction? When you are on a journey, you pretty much have four directions: north, south, east and west. It’s important to know your direction and to stick with it; to stay on course.

In life we come up with our own variations on these directions – a direction towards a specific career, educational degree, marriage, self-improvement, or making more money. But what direction does the Bible say you are to have?

It’s really simple. It’s the direction of love. You are not to head in the direction of money, career or anything else. The direction isn’t even that ministry or that goal or that project. The Bible says to make love your aim.

When you have a direction, you get a compass and aim everything there. Do you want to find God’s will for your life? Then chart your course towards one goal – the goal of love. You are heading to heaven; a place of love.

So begin now to chart your journey and set your compass towards love. Head away from anything that is not love, and set your aim in the direction of love.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2

Wherever you go today, let love always be your destination. Whatever you do today, show it in acts of compassion, mercy and above all – love.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Being Their Angel

8 Jul

Being Their Angel…

Simon Peter is in jail for his faith. He is awaiting execution and an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared to him inside the prison cell. The angel had good news for Peter. He is going to be free.

Angels are good at bringing good news. In fact, the word angel in Hebrew malakh and angellos in Greek can be translated as the “news bringers.” They are the ones who came to the shepherds in Bethlehem and said, “I bring you good news of great joy.”

In English when you say the word evangelism, in the middle of that you can find the word angel. Whenever you share the gospel by the Spirit of God, you are an angel.

Whenever you help someone in the Lord and set them free from bondage, you are an angel on assignment. When you do God’s will and minister and serve, do it as an angel.

Go forth as one who is sent from heaven on an angelic assignment. Rejoice, get into the joy of it. Start your angelic visitations now. It’s angelic and it’s glorious. Get started in the Great Commission on your divine mission as an angel.

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:2-5

Be someone’s angel today. You are on a holy assignment wherever you are. Experience the joy of serving in His name as you spread the good news.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed
