Jehovah of Nazareth

26 Aug

Jehovah of Nazareth…

In the beginning of the Book of John, it is written, “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God, and all things were made through Him, and apart from Him, nothing was made that has been made.”

The Greek word for “word” is “logos.” In the first century there was a Jewish man named Philo Judeaus, a very famous philosopher. As far as we know, he never heard the Gospel; yet look what he writes in his commentary on Genesis 2 on the creation.

He writes, “No mortal thing could have been formed on the similitude of the supreme Father of the universe, except after the pattern of the second deity, who is the Logos.

Even in his ignorance of the Gospel, he is bearing witness of the truth of the Gospel. Life is not so much about living with Him, but living through Him, for through Him we came into existence, and only by living through Him can we come to the fullness of life.

My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. Psalm 119:50

Don’t go through today alone – but live today through Him – see things through His eyes, feel things through His heart, and walk in His footsteps.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Avrams Road

Avrams Road…

Avram, you probably know him as Abram. Abram, became Abraham when he answered God’s call. He was called by God to leave his homeland and leave his old life.

He walked by faith. He believed God’s word and he acted on it. He walked and he kept walking and he kept continuing and persevering in faith. He kept walking away from the old life and continuously walking towards the new life, away from the seen and to the unseen, away from what he knew and to the unknown.

He walked very consistently, and every footstep was another action of faith; one step farther away from the old life, one step closer to the new.

If you are born again you are a child of Abraham You need to be walking away from the old and step to the new every day of your life with consistent, continual steps in faith.

Act on your faith, my friend, and keep acting on it and walk on your faith and keep walking consistently and faithfully. Leave the old, enter the new. Don’t just feel your faith, live it. So you too, will enter the land of promises.

Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Galatians 3:7

Live today like Abraham. Go through the day as a journey, taking steps away from the old life and the old you, and stepping forward to new things, to a new life and a new you, you have not yet known.

Walk daily with God at your side!

From All Things

From All Things…

In Acts 13:39, it says something like this, “Through Him, everyone who believes is freed from all things, from that which you could not be freed through the law of Moses.”

It means that whatever that bondage is in your life, that it has to be part of that “all things.” In Jesus you have the power to be free; by believing in the One who saves.

Those who believe, anyone who believes, not some but everyone who believes, really believes will be free indeed. The more you believe, the more faith you have, the more you get that into your heart.

The more you really believe what the Bible says, the more you will be free from all things, everything. In Jesus, you have the power, not to be free from a few things, or some things, or even many things.

It doesn’t say that, it says all things. Good news. That thing that is a bondage in your life is a thing. It means it is covered. So start your process of freedom today; take the first step in Jesus. You are freed, not from some, but from all things.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

Believe in the One who has redeemed you. And in that, step out in freedom from all those things that kept you in chains.

The Storm Brother

23 Aug

The Storm Brother…

Akh” in Hebrew means “brother.” Proverbs 17 says, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother (Akh) is born for adversity.”

A brother is born for hard times, not just good times. A true brother is born in times of hardship, adversity, to stand with you when everything is against you. When we say brother; it doesn’t mean much unless it’s tested.

Those who stand in adversity are the true ones. That’s the most important time for being a brother. You are the brother of the Lord because you’re born again; for times of adversity, to show yourself true, not just when God blesses you, but in times of testing.

That’s what you’re born for, not to abandon or forsake Him, but to stand with Him all the more in adversity, trouble, persecution. When times are tough, show your true devotion to Him.

When you go through a trial, don’t despair; praise Him. You will be blessed because you were born as His brother, and a brother is born for adversity and He stands with you in your adversity.

I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. Psalm 34:1-3

When you encounter a test today, stand strong in devotion to Jesus, above all; praising Him through any adversity.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Consider It Pure Joy

22 Aug

Consider It Pure Joy…

In the book of James it says, “Consider it all joy my brethren when you encounter various trials, knowing the testing of your faith produces endurance.

The word in Greek is “peripipto,” meaning when you find yourself surrounded by Him. Consider it pure joy when you are surrounded with troubles. You would think, maybe surrounded by coconut trees or palm trees or water and attendants.

No, no. Consider it pure joy when you are surrounded by trials, or surrounded by evil, or surrounded by adversity, surrounded by temptation, or when you are being attacked by the enemy.

Usually being surrounded by adversity and trouble is not pure joy. It doesn’t say “pure joy.” It says, “consider it pure joy.” It doesn’t seem that way, but consider it.

You have to choose it. If it naturally produced pure joy, you wouldn’t have to consider it that way. Why? Because it is really about producing faith in you.

It’s the testing of your faith. It’s producing something great. Even more radical, consider it pure joy. And pure joy is exactly what you will have in the end.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, James 1:2

Embrace the challenges that test and stretch your faith, and gain the power for the greater things God has called you to be.

Lights Of The End Times

21 Aug

Lights Of The End Times…

Jesus gave the parable of the ten virgins that was based on the ancient Hebrew Jewish wedding. These ten would be waiting with the bride because no one knew exactly when the groom would arrive.

They had to keep oil in their lamps for any time the groom would come. Five virgins weren’t prepared and their oil ran out at the time of the groom’s arrival.

There is a general principle here, also linked to the end times, because we are near the coming of Jesus. The end times means we have to be like the good virgins, the faithful ones.

It is crucial for believers to keep that light of faith growing and standing strong because for many it goes out. It’s easy to let your light get snuffed out. How?

The love of God gets snuffed out by the world with distractions, money, or busyness. How do you avoid this?

Get away from the distractions. Refill your oil in prayer, in the presence of God, in the Word and in rejoicing in Him. Refill your oil today and every day, and your light will shine bright through the end times.

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. Matthew 5:1

Set today to be continually in the presence of God and filled with the Holy Spirit. Be prepared and ready for Jesus to come for His bride

At-One-Ment

20 Aug

At-One-Ment…

The holiest day in the Bible was Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. Now the day of atonement is linked to three words. Atonement comes from at-one-ment, to be at one.

The blood of God was shed; it’s the blood of atonement; but it’s also the blood of at-one-ment. He gave His blood so you could live in atonement. That means to live in a state of At-one-ment with God.

If you live by the power of the blood, you can live in at-one-ment. The blood of Jesus is to break every veil; the veil of unworthiness, the veil of condemnation; whatever keeps you from God.

The blood of Jesus is the power to break every veil that separates you from God. The blood is for that purpose. It’s not that we deserve it or warrant it, but by grace.

By the blood of at-one-ment you can break through and be at one with God, and it will bring you to the at-one-ment–the presence of God.

And the blood of atonement is the blood of at-one-ment, the power for you to live at one with God. Break through the veil.

Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided. Proverbs 16: 6

Today live by the power of the blood. By it, enter through any and every veil of separation, to live at-one-ment with God in all things.

Closer Than A Brother

Closer Than A Brother…

Proverbs says that in the casting of lots, contentions cease. But what does that mean? It means that arguments can be resolved by the casting of lots, which is like flipping a coin.

Suppose you have an argument with someone that is difficult to resolve, and the two of you agree to flip a coin. If the flipped coin lands “heads up,” then whoever calls “heads” prevails in the argument.

The lot principle works because all parties agree to let the final outcome be determined by the “lot” or coin toss. The original disciples actually used this method to pick the apostle to replace Judas.

They trusted that the lot would reveal God’s will. This doesn’t mean you should toss a coin or cast lots over every dispute. But often we’re in conflict because we trust in our own understanding, not in God’s will.

Just say, “Lord, let your will be done!” Peace will come to you and to the situation as you trust Him for the outcome He desires. Cast your lots before God, yield to His will, and have peace.

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10

Surrender your will to God’s will. Trust Him in all things, and be at peace as His ways are the best for you.

Aiding Your Enemy

18 Aug

Aiding Your Enemy….

If you’ve ever heard the story of Chanukah, you probably know that it was about a foreign power overtaking Israel and desecrating the temple. But that’s not the whole story.

The real story is that long before the nation was overtaken and the temple defiled, some Israelites began imitating the ways of gentiles, brought in foreigners and collaborated with the enemy.

The enemy would never have gotten into the temple if certain Israelites had not opened the doors and guided them in.

The desecration of the temple happened because the High Priest guided the enemy into the Holy Place. This is profound! Your real enemy, the enemy of your soul, cannot gain victory over you unless you let him in.

Every time you give into temptation and sin you are collaborating with the enemy of your soul. Why should you aid your own enemy? In God, you cannot help but win as long as you trust and obey Him.

The enemy can’t stop you from doing God’s will unless you let him stop you. Stop aiding your enemy! Resist him and get back on the winning side. Do God’s will… and win!

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Resist the temptations of this world, refuse to allow sin to enter in your heart and deny the enemy any foothold inside your soul.

Against Desecration

17 Aug

Against Desecration…

What will the end times be like? The story of Chanukah, a foreshadowing of the end times and the battle of the anti-Christ, provides a key. Chanukah centers on the desecration of the temple.

But the Bible says that our human bodies are now God’s temple. So end times will be characterized by desecration, specifically desecration of the human body.

We are now witnessing the selling and exploitation of sex and human sexuality, the explosion of pornography into a multi-billion dollar industry, and an increasingly blurred line between pornography and mainstream culture.

People are no longer seen as sacred, but as cheap commodities to be used and abused. As end-time believers, we need to consecrate our lives, our hearts, our bodies, and our sexuality to God so there is not even a hint of immorality.

Keep your eyes, your ears, and your thoughts from what is unclean. You are an end-time believer living in an age of desecration.

Therefore, live sacred, think sacred, act sacred, and be sacred because you are the temple of the living God.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

Dedicate your heart, mind and soul today to holy things. Continually be cleansing your thoughts and maintain purity in what you see and hear, as you are God’s holy temple.

Walk daily with God at your side!
