The Six Billion Year Mistake…

A major newspaper once had an article where scientists revised their calculations of the universe by six billion years. A mistake of six billion years? Shouldn’t they have received a failing grade? No. People continued trusting them.

Why should we trust in those who start out by being billions of years wrong? How many have failed a history exam for being off by just 100 years? What does it say? Some trust in chariots, some in horses, but we will trust in the Lord. Some trust in scientists, but we will trust in the Lord.

Science has a place, but it can’t answer the ultimate question like, why do we exist? So don’t put all your trust in men, put your trust in God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of man.

Go by His Word that remains forever. Trust in, live by and act on His Word. There’s much you can’t depend on in this world. There’s only One you can always depend on. He’ll never be six billion years wrong. He will always be eternally right, perfect, up-to-date and right on time.

Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Proverbs 30:5

Is there something in your life that conflicts with God’s word? Today it is time to turn it over to the Father and trust that His ways are perfect.

The Little Foxes

The Little Foxes…

As a child watching the Superman show, I always wondered why Superman would stand up to bullets, but he would duck when something was thrown at him. There’s a truth here, and in the Song of Solomon. It says, “”Catch the little foxes that spoil our garden.””

It’s often the little things that mess us up the most. On the big things, we’ll give up our lives, but cut us off on the highway and we lose it. We’ll give great gifts to God, but ignore us and we get angry.

I knew someone who was leaving for Israel planning to preach a great message on the peace of God. Then he misplaced his Bible and peace went out the window. He went crazy. Watch out for the little things the enemy throws at you to catch you off guard.

Often that is how we slip up because we’re not prepared. If Superman laughed at bullets, but panicked over someone throwing a gun, then you have to watch out for things such as these. It’s the little foxes that spoil the garden. God has called you to be wiser and stronger than Superman.

The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. Psalm 19:7

Don’t let the enemy catch you off guard today. Pray for the peace of God to guard your heart and mind.

The Reyach and The Ruach

The Reyach and The Ruach…

In the Song of Solomon, it’s written, “”The vines with tender grapes put forth their reyach”” (their fragrance). The word reyach is sometimes translated as “”sweet perfume.”” Reyach comes from “”Ruach”” – “”wind, breath or Spirit””.

You see, the Ruach is the Spirit, and from the Spirit comes sweet fragrance. It’s written that we’re to manifest the sweet fragrance of the Holy Spirit – Ruach Ha Kodesh. There are perfumes in this world that cost a fortune, but better than all of them, is the Reyach of the Ruach, the perfume of the Spirit.

When someone lives in the Spirit, there is a sweet fragrance about them. When they enter, there is a sweetness. When they leave, something lingers. There is an aroma of love, joy, peace and righteousness. Something beautiful about them fills up their life in every situation.

Don’t get into perfumes to make yourself sweet, get into living in the Spirit. Live, love, walk and breathe in the Spirit and your life will become sweeter and sweeter, because the Reyach comes from the Ruach. The sweet fragrance of God comes from the Spirit of God.

For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:15

Ask the Lord to fill you with the sweet fragrance of His Holy Spirit. Wherever you go today, walk in it, praise in it and love in it.

The Ishmael Syndrome

The Ishmael Syndrome…

Israel was reborn as a nation on May 14, 1948. From that day until now, the issue of Israel has been a continual source of controversy. What is the Arab-Israeli Conflict? The answer is found in Genesis. Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael. Isaac, the son of promise, received the birthright, but Ishmael lost his inheritance.

It’s about the birthright. The children of Isaac returned to their inheritance. The children of Ishmael claimed the land that was given to Isaac. Harboring the bitterness and anger of Ishmael has brought great harm to their lives.

When you carry resentment, harbor unforgiveness, feed self-pity, and bitterness, you hurt yourself more than anyone else and bring a curse on all that you do. Jesus said “”Forgive and you shall be forgiven.”” Is there unforgiviness, anger or bitterness in your life? Have you been wronged, mistreated, overlooked?

Forget it. God hasn’t treated you wrong or overlooked you. God has treated you better than you ever deserved. Forgive, let go, and move on with your life. Harbor no bitterness, and your life will be free from the curse of Ishmael and covered with the blessing of Isaac.

Then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and bring them back to the land you gave to their ancestors. 1 Kings 8:34

Today, ask God to expose any root of bitterness in your heart. Uproot it and replace it with His forgiveness.

The Palistina Strategy

The Palistina Strategy…

On May 14, 1948, what had been known as “Palestine” became the nation of Israel. But where did Palestine come from? The Romans banned Jews from Israel and renamed Israel “Palestina,” based on the ancient enemies of the Jews, the Philistines, in order to make the world and the Jews forget that they had an inheritance in that land.

But God would not forget. He brought them back. So too, the enemy uses the same strategy, “The Palestina strategy,” to make you forget God’s call, inheritance and promises on your life. To make you disbelieve God’s power to make you victorious, joyous, Jesus-like.

The enemy wants you to live a substitute, second rate, messed up life. He wants circumstances and events in your life to make you forget God’s promises. “The Palestine Strategy.” The world may not believe, you may not believe, but God does not forget His promises, calling and inheritance for you.

So rise up! Remember His promise and how great His calling is. Believe it, for God has called you as an heir to the Promised Land and everything other than that, is only Palestine.

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; Lamentations 3:22-25

Is there a promise from God that the enemy is trying to make you forget? Revive it today and don’t let go of it. Remember His faithfulness.

As He Was Born…So you

The incarnation: The God of the universe came down, born into our condition as a baby, a boy, a man. It was God born into our life. But now learn the other side of the incarnation….namely that we are now to be born into His life.

He didn’t find life with us, we found life with Him. He wasn’t born in our image, we’re born in His. We’re created that we might live our lives in Him, to love the Father as He does.

We’re born again into His life, and it’s just as wonderful to know His love, to feel His feelings, to experience His blessings, to walk His walk, speak with His words, and love with His heart.

You are here to learn how to take part in His divine existence, a supernatural life in the natural. To love with a supernatural love, to think in His supernatural thoughts. Paul said, “For the life I now live, I live in Him.”

He is like ia tree. planted by jstreams of water
that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:3

He was born into this world to enter our life. And we’re “born again” to enter His life. It’s as great a miracle as the incarnation.

Give thanks that you are in Jesus and He is in you. Today learn the mystery of walking, moving, living in His life.

The Thoughts Of A Child…

When I was a child, I thought that human beings were human beans, linked to the bean family. There were coffee beans, lima beans, baked beans, and human beans. As a child you think and understand like a child and there is so much you don’t understand.

So Paul said, “When I was a child, I used to think like a child, but when I became an adult I put away childish things.” Remember that no matter how old we are, compared to God’s thoughts, we still think like children.

The greatest theology and science is still child thinking. Don’t be limited by your own childish thoughts, but be an adult. That means trust the Lord, put away childish thinking. Be unlimited by trusting in God’s thoughts and ways.

You don’t have to understand everything God is doing in your life, but you have to trust Him. If you go by your reasoning, you will be reasoning like a child. But if you trust, you will be led by infinite wisdom. Put away childish things. Your own thinking isn’t enough. You are only a human being.

You have made known to me the paths of life;  you will fill me with joy in your presence. Acts 2:28

As old as you are today, see yourself as a little child before God. He is your Daddy and you can trust Him to take care of you.

Eat Your Spinage Before The Fight…

As a child, I watched Popeye, a one-eyed smoking sailor with a speech impediment. If you saw one Popeye, you knew the basic plot for all of them. He gets beaten up until finally he eats his spinach, and then he triumphs.

You have to wonder, doesn’t it make more sense to eat your spinach at the beginning, before the fight? But no, he would always wait until he could just barely get the can of spinach open.

As believers we make the same mistake. We wait until we are in the middle of warfare before deciding to fight. We live defensively. But champion fighters never do that. They don’t wait to be in the middle of the fight to figure out how to fight.

They train for the battle. God didn’t call us to live defensively, but offensively. That’s the way you win. Don’t wait to be tempted or until your back is against the wall to fight the enemy.

Live so your back is never against the wall. Put on the full armor of God and be victorious, and you won’t end up being beaten up like Popeye.

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11

Don’t let the circumstances of the day catch you off guard! Let the Word of God be spiritual nourishment and protection for you today.

The Matthias Principle

The Matthias Principle…

The Lord had left, Judas was gone, and the disciples had to choose another to replace him. They chose Matthias, a substitute, yet he was actually better. His name means “Gift of God.”

That says something to our life. God’s gift comes often as a substitute for what we hoped for. Salvation turns out to be a life that we didn’t plan for. It’s something that happens when what we wanted didn’t happen.

Often we view what God does as second best. For example, your marriage might have fallen apart, your spouse left you for another person, or maybe you suffered great loss in your life, or career and you feel like you are living a consolation life. But remember Matthias.

The substitute is actually a gift. God doesn’t give hand-me-downs, He only gives the best. Rejoice in what God has given you, and it will all work for good. Rejoice, because it will become God’s best. In God, there is no substitute for His best. He never gives substitutes, only gifts.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Insulated Kingdom

The Insulated Kingdom…

As a child going outside in the wintertime, my mother would dress me up in a sweater, scarf, snowsuit, and wrapped inside layers of insulation. It was great, but there was one problem. I was so insulated, that even though I was outside, I was still inside, hermetically sealed.

So as believers, we tend to have an insulation problem. We insulate ourselves against the outside world. But the Great Commission is outside, beyond the church building. The people outside are the ones who need salvation.

You have to go out for the kingdom to grow. Most new people are brought into a congregation by new members, not by the old members. The old tend to get insulated, inside Christian relationships.

They don’t touch the outside anymore, so comfortable in church culture. We need to get out. That can’t happen by only connecting with other believers. It happens when you take away the insulation.

Out is where the lost are, where the kingdom grows, where the Lord commanded us to go. It’s where you need to go if you’re going to touch this world. Get uninsulated and get out.

And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 1 John 3:23

Today ask the Lord for someone to share the love of Yeshua with, pray with or invite to your congregation – and spread the word!
