Your Song

15 Aug

Your Song…

When Miriam (Mary) is given the great news about bearing the Son of God, she starts singing. She had a song. She knew the Word of God and His Spirit was upon her. If she had been wrapped up in the world, her problems, running around, never having enough time, she wouldn’t have had a song.

Many of us live our lives wrapped up in the world, busy with our problems and too worried to have a song. But God’s people need to have a song. Moses, Anna, Isaiah, Mary and the saints of Revelation had a song.

You need to have a song. Your heart has to be able to sing, and overflow. God didn’t call you to live a desperate life but to live abundantly, overflowing like someone who has a song. Don’t live your life always wanting, always desperate, always needing more.

You need to have a flow and time to overflow with God. Sing to the Lord a new song, a praise from your heart. God has called you to glorify, praise, and worship Him with a song, your own song, the song of your life.

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. Psalm 95:1-2

Use songs of praise to honor God today and gain victory. Sing His praises and watch Him show up and rain down His blessings.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Ants Obstacle

14 Aug

The Ants Obstacle…

Scripture tells us “go to the ant” meaning, learn from the ant. If an ant is bringing a piece of food to the colony and you put something in its path, it doesn’t drop the food and say, “What did I do to deserve this? I can’t take it anymore. Take me now Lord! Send a shoe to kill me!”

Sometimes, we get discouraged so easily. Something obstructs our path, and we get discouraged and give up. Temptation comes, and we give in, or we lose the zeal we had in the Lord because something hindered us. But the ant just keeps going without batting an eyelid.

Obstacles come up – they happen. Don’t throw up your hands and stop. If something’s of God, keep going. Fight for it. You keep going in righteousness and love. Persevere in what’s good. Ants persevere for a bread crumb.

You need to show the same righteous perseverance for God. Ants persevere for crumbs, but you persevere for something better–for loving, serving, doing, hoping, standing, and overcoming. Because you need to be at least as strong as an ant.

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

This is the day to get past whatever obstacle the enemy has tried to put in your way. Break through and break forth.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Your First Vocation

13 Aug

Your First Vocation

1 Peter 2:9 says “You’re a royal priesthood.” The word of God doesn’t say things lightly. If He’s calling you royal, believe that you’re royal. That means it’s more real than being born the descendant of tribal leaders, chiefs or kings.

You’re born of God, the royal Seed. And you’re declared royal by God. It doesn’t matter if you’re a secretary, garbage man, doctor, cleaning lady, student, lawyer, homemaker, or shoe salesman, you’re a person of royalty. Start living like you’re a royal person.

If you take out the garbage, clean your house, unclog the drain, when you do your job, do it as an heir to the throne. No matter what your circumstances, behave royally. No matter what your finances, live prosperously. No matter what your station, live sovereign.

It means above your circumstance; live triumphant; live in the authority of Jesus. Live royally. Live a royal life. It doesn’t matter what’s happening in the world, you know who you are.

You’re a child of the King of the Universe, and there’s no way around that fact. You happen to be royalty.

All the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever. Micah 4:5

Live today as if you were royal. Because you are. Think royal. Act royal. Live royal.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Pilates Question

Pilates Question…

Esther is a unique book. There’s not one mention of God. Some secular books have more reference to God than this book of the Bible. It’s the book of the unmentioned God. When Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?”

There’s no record of His answer because He was the Truth. God is also known in silence. We have to cut through the things about God to get right to God. Sometimes, we have to find Him in the unmentioned.

We have theology, rituals, and religion, but often, we have to cut through that to find God Himself. To learn of God beyond the songs, the words, the teachings, the theology, and the fellowship. Beyond all these things into the silence of being in His presence.

He said, “Be still and know that I am God.” If you only know God in the noise, then you don’t fully know God. Learn about Him in the silence. Clear out your schedule. Get alone with God.

Be still, be silent, and behold Him, the Truth, because God is more than anything only spoken about Him. Be still and know that He is God.

Surely, you have granted him unending blessings
and made him glad with the joy of your presence. Psalm 21:6

Get to know God more intimately today. Secure a quiet place, where you can enter into His presence without distractions.

Walk daily with God at your side!

A Quarter On The Sidewalk

11 Aug

A Quarter On The Sidewalk…

Growing up, some of my friends played a practical joke by gluing a quarter to the sidewalk. When someone would bend down to pick it up, it wouldn’t move. It was fixed to the sidewalk.

A quarter barely weighs anything, but super glued to the sidewalk, it weighs as much as the pavement. A cruel practical joke, but a great spiritual lesson. If you try to be strong, holy, and righteous in your own strength; your own weight, you will fall short. It’s not going to weigh much.

But if you affix yourself to God; to His righteousness, then His strength, His righteousness, His weight, His power, His resources, His abilities, and even His authority becomes yours. You’re going to live not by your own weight; not by the lightness of a coin, but by the solidity of the Rock, strong, as you join yourself to God.

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. It’s a cosmic truth that can change your life. Live by the weight and power of the Rock and not by the lightness of a coin.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Bind yourself to “The Rock of Jesus” today. Whatever comes against you comes against Him, and He is immovable.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Melted Waters

10 Aug

Melted Waters…

Proverbs 5:15 says “Drink waters from your own cistern and fresh water from your own well.” This speaks first to husbands; be blessed and rejoice in your wife, filled up with her love. And in the larger sense, be satisfied with the blessings God’s given you. Rejoice, give thanks, receive and be filled with them.

But there’s something even more. The Hebrew word for “fresh” water here is “nazal” which can also mean “melting” water. In other words, your well, your marriage, your relationship might be frozen.

There are potential waters of blessing and love, but it’s iced up and cold. You might have to take time to warm it up with God’s love. And keep loving until it melts the ice of your spouse’s heart or whatever is needed.

In other areas of your life, you may be frozen because you’re not giving thanks or haven’t been paying attention to it. Warm up your frozen prayer life, your frozen ministry life, your frozen time in the Lord, your family time, and it will flow. Drink waters from your own cistern. They may be frozen, so warm them up.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves. Philippians 2:3

Give 100% in your relationships today. Love, bless and keep loving and blessing them, until it melts and the waters flow.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Becoming A Baby

9 Aug

Becoming A Baby…

We come into the world without having to learn to be a baby, because we are babies. But in 1 Peter 2 it says we’re to be as newborn babes. We need to learn what we never learned before, to become a newborn babe.

We can actually become new again, actually prepare to become as babes. What’s a baby? A baby is innocent. Learn how to become innocent. Learn how to stop being guilty. Babies are simple. Learn how to uncomplicate your life, uncomplicate your heart. Learn how to be simple in heart.

Babies aren’t weighed down, they’re free. Learn how to become free. Unload your burdens. Babies are light, they don’t weigh much. Learn how to stop being so heavy and become light. Babies are open. Learn how to be open. Babies have no past.

Learn how to become unburdened by anything from the past. Babies are new. Learn how to become new again, fresh, and revived as in the beginning. In God’s mercy, you can. Because His mercies are new every morning. It all begins when you learn how to become new, as a newborn babe.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

Don’t let situations or circumstances weigh you down today. Let Him deal with it. Lighten your heart as a little child.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Price

8 Aug

The Price…

Jackson Pollock was a famous artist of the twentieth century. His paintings are worth a fortune. Some look like house painter rags that caught paint drippings; like what accidentally happened while he was trying to do something else. But they’re worth millions. Why? Because people are willing to pay for them.

What’s your life worth? A fortune. Why? Because God was willing to pay a fortune for it. He gave the life of His Son for our life. Not because we’re worth it, but because it makes us worth it. It makes us valuable because we have a purchased life.

When you own your own life, live your own life, and it’s worth nothing. But when you live a purchased life by God, it’s worth everything. It doesn’t matter if your life’s a mess. The Jackson Pollock paintings are messes. But they’re worth millions.

Let God have your life, even if it’s a mess. Owned by Him for His glory and His purposes, your life will become priceless. Live your life as fully belonging to God and His purposes. And your life will become precious, valuable, and worth the very life of God.

Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. Matthew 10:39

Today, throughout your day, give thanks to God that your life is now a precious treasure; redeemed by the life of God. And live accordingly.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Not Speaking Satan’s Language

7 Aug

Not Speaking Satan’s Language…

When I go to another country on a mission, I find I get into more trouble, when I try to speak the language that’s not mine. I focus on learning one thing. How to say, “I don’t know how to say anything in your language.” Or as some say, “Sorry, I no-a speak-a your language.”

Somehow we think if we just add vowels to English they’re going to understand. Our enemy the devil; HaSatan in Hebrew, is a speaker. He accuses, he engages. He engaged Adam and Eve and they got into trouble when they spoke with him.

It’s important – in dealing with the enemy; if he wants to engage you in dialogue of temptation, self-pity, pride, anger, with thoughts or words – that you don’t deal with the enemy. When the enemy tries to engage you, disengage.

Pay him no heed. Don’t listen to him. Don’t talk to him. Let it go right by you. Treat it like gibberish; as if you can’t understand it and it has no place in your life. Just tell him, “Sorry, I no-a speak-a your language.” And be done with it.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16

When the enemy tries to speak to you today, just ignore it. Instead, speak the language of God’s blessings over everything.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Universe That Shouldn’t Exist

6 Aug

The Universe That Shouldn’t Exist…

People say the Bible isn’t scientific and only science is logical, rational and real. Let’s look at the end point of man’s understanding. Starting with the most basic question: Why does the universe exist? There are two options:

1. The universe always was and it has no cause. The problem with that is, if it always was and it has no cause, it can’t have an effect. It’s not logical, scientific or rational.

2. The universe does have a cause. If it does, the cause has to be something beyond itself, beyond the natural, meaning supernatural. That only leads to the Creator.

If you believe in the big bang, then what caused the bang? Who set the fire? When you take all man’s reasoning, logic, rationale and science to the end, it ends up leading to nothing or to God.

So how can you trust your own understanding? It’s okay, you don’t have to. Just trust in the Lord with all your heart. Don’t lean on your own understanding and God will direct your paths. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of this world.

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Romans 11:33

Don’t try to reason with the world today. Trust in the truth of God’s Word and rest in it.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,
