The Trumpet and The Harvest

25 Aug

The Trumpet and The Harvest…

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year’s Biblical name is “Yom Teruah” Day of the Blasting – Feast of Trumpets. Israel was commanded to blow the Shofar; the ram’s horn, to signal that the summer harvest was over, the Great Day of Atonement was near.

Get ready to stand before your God. The Feast of Trumpets is prophetic. We’re in the age of the great harvest. The next great event will be the sound of the trumpets which will end the harvest. Then we will each stand before God.

We pretend this life will never end. We waste our time putting off what we know is right for tomorrow. We fall asleep. But the Feast of Trumpets is God’s wake-up call; you don’t have forever here. You walk through this life only once and one day you’ll stand before your Maker.

Therefore, if you would do good, repent, tell that person you love them, forgive or be forgiven, get right, step out in faith, live in righteousness. Do it now. Hear the trumpets, do it today. For tomorrow may not come and the day of salvation is today.

in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:52

Make the most of your day today by serving the Lord in all that you say and do. Time is short.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Becoming The Shofar

24 Aug

Becoming The Shofar…

The most uniquely biblical instrument is the shofar or ram’s horn. The root word for “shofar” means “clear.” A shofar must make a clear sound, and be cleared through. Any obstruction and the sound will be hindered.

You can’t blow through something that’s clogged. You’re called to be a vessel, an instrument of the Lord’s purposes. You’re to be the Lord’s shofar that He blows through. In Hebrew “breath” is “ruach”. “Ruach” also means “Spirit.”

As the Lord’s instrument, you must be free of obstructions: bitterness, apathy, selfishness, pride, lust, carnality, immorality, fear, sin. Anything outside of God’s will obstructs the blowing of His breath.

Do you want God to be able to make a great sound through your life? Then His breath — His Spirit must flow through you. Get those blockages out. Start clearing up your vessel. Anything out of God’s will isn’t only bad, it’s stopping you from knowing a Spirit-filled life.

2 Timothy 2:21 says, “If anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor.” The Lord wants to use you. It’s time to become a clear vessel. Get unblocked.

The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4

Identify anything that’s blocking God’s Spirit from moving in your life today. Get cleansed from it and ask Him to blow through you.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Unchangeable

The Unchangeable…

We often have a hard time with change. We want others to change their ways, attitude, behavior or opinion. We want our financial situation, our job or living situations to change. But the fact is that nothing has to change, but us; our hearts and minds.

The only one who’s unchangeable is God. He says, “I change not.” But as for us, we can’t live our lives without changing. If we don’t change, we can’t grow and we die. Our whole salvation starts with change, repentance, becoming a new creation; putting away the old self, putting on the new and growing in maturity.

Being born again is change. You’re the only thing you have to make sure changes and nothing else, not your situation, but you. We have no control over anyone else’s change, just our own. Open your heart, your life, your will, and your mind today, so you can change and become more like Him and be changed.

Be a change for God. For God is the only One who changes not. That’s His job to change not, and He shouldn’t. But your job is to change.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6

Examine yourself in light of God’s Word. What doesn’t line up? Open your life up to change – and start changing today!

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Days Of Jesus

22 Aug

The Days Of Jesus…

In the rabbinic writings, it says, “The light will shoot up between heaven and earth and rest in the land of Galilee. For there was the beginning of Israel’s exile, and there – Jesus will reveal Himself in that light. He will return to His place, and then the whole world will see that King Jesus revealed Himself in the land of Galilee.”

Wow! That’s exactly where Jesus Yeshua revealed Himself; the place that was first judged by God, the land of the broken. His grace came there first. When you think of Jesus on the shores of Galilee, remember the people there were broken.

God wants to heal the broken. When you mess up and feel completely unworthy as if you can’t even approach God, when you want to run the other way and hide; run to Him.

He’s the Jesus of Galilee, the One whose heart is for the fallen and the broken. You’ll find the blessings of His love, grace, healing and miracles in the arms of the Galilean, the Jesus.

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Psalm 51:1

Is there an area in your heart that has been broken? Run into Jesus’s arms and let Him heal you today.

Walk daily with God at your side!

He Who Loves Much

21 Aug

He Who Loves Much…

Jesus told a Pharisee, “He who’s forgiven much, loves much. He who’s been forgiven little, loves little.” Does that mean the Pharisee didn’t have as many sins as the sinful woman?

He read Scripture, prayed, and gave tithes. He didn’t think he had a lot to be forgiven for. He was just as much a sinner as anyone else, but he didn’t realize it.

We’re all infinitely separated from God and need His infinite forgiveness. The one who loves more is the one who realizes they’ve been forgiven more and receives it. Believers who think they really don’t need a lot of forgiveness are the ones who will love less, rejoice less, and live less on fire for God.

But those who know the ugliness of their sin and the immense price paid know that without God, there’s nothing. You’ve been forgiven an eternity of judgment. That’s enough for you to become a person who loves much, forgives much, rejoices much, and lives all out for God. Because Jesus has done it, and that’s enough for you to live a life of love and joy.

The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. Psalm 145:20

Meditate on all God has forgiven you and that you’re not going to hell. Then, live your day in the thankfulness, love, grace, and joy that come out of knowing it.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Your Heavenly Name

20 Aug

Your Heavenly Name…

In Hebrew, attachments to a name indicate identity and often someone’s nature. A name connected by the word Ben or Bar means Son of. Bat means Daughter of. Barabbas means son of Abba, Benjamin means son of my right hand and Bathsheba means daughter of an oath.

That means your identity is linked to what you’re a child of. Ephesians 5:8 says “For you were formerly darkness but now…walk as children of light.” It’s about being born of the good. You might have been Joe Bar Anger, but now you’re Joe Bar Compassion or Sally Bat Failure, now you’re Sally Bat Victory.

To become a beautiful person, you have to be born of what is beautiful. To become loving, you have to be born of love. The very thing you want to become in the Lord; you have to be born of it. It’s not something you’re just trying to do; it’s what you totally become.

Let yourself become who you are in God. Learn to become a child of goodness. Because in God you’re a Ben or Bat of heaven, a child of heaven.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1

As God’s dearly loved child, go through your day imitating Him and bless everyone around you today.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Focus and Balance

19 Aug

Focus and balance…

Picture yourself walking on a balance beam and someone starts pushing you. You push back to keep your balance, but the more you push back, the more you risk falling off the other side.

That’s the principle of counterbalance. The problem is, instead of focusing on walking straight ahead, you focus or react to one extreme or another, pushing in the opposite direction and being as much out of balance.

For believers, if you spend your time focused on and reacting to false teachings, unbalanced doctrines and dogmas, you could end up falling into error by pushing back the other way instead of focusing on God.

If you spend your time judging others for their sins and focusing on what’s wrong, you will end up being imbalanced. As their eyes are off the Lord, so when you focus on them or that thing, your eyes are off the Lord, too.

Philippians 4:8 teaches us real balance; dwell on the good, focus on His truth; major on the majors and you will not turn to the right or to the left, but you will move straight ahead perfectly in balance.

Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the[a] paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil. Proverbs 4:25-27

Is there something negative that has been keeping your attention lately? Let go of it today and direct your focus back to the goodness of God.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Wisdom Of Lilies

18 Aug

The Wisdom Of Lilies…

Imagine driving your car around so you can fill up with gas. It defeats the purpose. You don’t drive to get gas, you get gas to drive. If you’re living to survive, or living to make a living, it’s the same thing.

Matthew 6 teaches us, that worrying about all these things, makes us forget the purpose of life. Jesus said, “Consider the lilies of the field, they don’t toil or spin.” They just live and glorify God. If you’re living, worrying how to live, you’ve got it backwards.

If you really want to live for God, break out of focusing on how you’re living or trying to survive and seek first the kingdom of God. Get beyond survival and live for God. Stop worrying about ‘how’ – that’s God’s job. Do and seek His will.

Get beyond yourself and into the purposes of God and you’ll start fulfilling your purpose. Selfishness and living to make a living is like driving in order to fill up on gas.

Stop worrying about your life and start living your life. Because God didn’t call you to live your life at the gas station.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Put the cares of life in the Lord’s hands. Stop existing wrapped up in the issues of survival. And start living!

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Challenges of the Drowning

17 Aug

The Challenges of the Drowning

What are the reasons we don’t share the Gospel? Fear of jeopardizing relationships, that it could get nasty, or they’ll reject us? Picture a lifeguard at their station, and someone is drowning. The lifeguard just sits there. The person screams, “Why aren’t you saving me?” The lifeguard answers, “If I try to save you, you might resist, hit me, or hurt me.”

What would you think of the lifeguard? That lifeguard is you. If we refuse to share the gospel with someone who’s perishing because it might rock the boat; cause an awkward moment or unpleasant situation, we have no excuse.

People who are drowning often resist, panic, or even hit the lifeguard. But no true lifeguard lets that stop them from saving the person. It didn’t stop Jesus from saving you. Don’t let it stop you from saving them.

It might not be an easy save, but you still do it. You jump in. Forget the relationship. Forget trying to avoid unpleasant reactions. Get off your lifeguard seat and jump in. Share the gospel and save them.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 29:19

See everyone outside of Jesus, as displaying an SOS (save our souls). Share the truth of Jesus with them today.

Walk daily with God at your side!

God Is Doing Fine

16 Aug

God Is Doing Fine…

A child praying said, “God, take care of my mother, take care of my father and take care of yourself. Because if anything happens to you, we’re all in big trouble.”

The good news is, nothing’s going to happen to God. He already died and the grave couldn’t hold Him. He’s all right. We, who are in God, have to be all right also. How you’re doing, is based on how God’s doing.

You’re standing on His righteousness, not your own. It has nothing to do with how much you have, but how much He has. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and the hills they’re on. How blessed your life is, is about how blessed He is.

If He’s risen and seated in the heavenlies, you are too. If He’s successful and victorious, you are in Him. Learn the wisdom of this child’s prayer. If He’s doing well, you’ll be doing well if you dwell in Him.

If anything happened to Him, we would all be in trouble. But it’s not going to. So rejoice, be well, and be blessed because He is.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2

Believe that you are doing well today. Because all is well with God, and you are in Him.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always
