Lucy’s Dance

7 Oct

Lucy’s Dance…

My dog Lucy hates baths. But afterward, she runs around, jumping for joy. Even the dog knew this truth – after a bath, you feel great. You may not run around and jump on the couch, but it’s a great feeling.

If we feel that good after taking a bath of water, how much better should we feel if we allow God to cleanse our hearts, souls, and spirits? We often think of asking God for cleansing in negative terms.

But it’s a positive, beautiful, and joyful thing. If you let your heart be cleansed by the Spirit of God, then your heart will come out new, fresh, and revived. If you let your mind be cleansed by God, your mind will come out of it a new and refreshed mind.

Let your life be cleansed by God, and it will become a new, revived, and refreshed life. Come to God and be cleansed. You’ll come out clean, fresh, new, and revived. And you may even feel like running around and jumping on a couch.

I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, I will cleanse you.  Ezekiel 36:25

Come to God today and be cleansed in your heart, mind, and soul. Let His springs of refreshing flow.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Where Your Treasure Is

Where Your Treasure Is…

Good morning,

Today, let’s take a moment to examine where we are placing our treasure and what truly holds our heart.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21

Imagine opening your phone and seeing your entire bank balance wiped out. Panic sets in, right? Now, picture losing your most treasured relationship. Which hits harder?

In Matthew 6:21, Jesus isn’t offering financial advice—He’s offering us a heart check. He’s asking, “Where is your treasure, and what’s your real currency?” We live in a world obsessed with accumulating likes, followers, square footage, digits in our accounts. But Jesus flips the script, telling us that our hearts follow our investments, not the other way around.

Think about it: What keeps you up at night? What’s the first thing you check when you wake up? These aren’t just random habits—they’re treasure maps leading straight to your heart. It’s not about feeling guilty for enjoying life’s blessings but about recognizing the difference between owning things and being owned by them.

Jesus invites us to invest in what truly satisfies—faith, relationships, acts of kindness, and moments that echo into eternity. So today, let’s be honest: Are we storing up treasures that fade or investing in what lasts forever?

In God’s economy, love outweighs gold, and relationships trump real estate. God doesn’t just want your obedience—He wants your heart. And where you plant your treasure, that’s where your heart will grow.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for reminding me where my heart truly belongs. In a world full of distractions and fleeting desires, help me to treasure what truly lasts—Your love, my faith, and the people You’ve placed in my life. When I’m tempted to chase after things that won’t satisfy, gently draw me back to what’s eternal. Give me the wisdom to let go of what fades and the courage to cling tightly to You. May my life reflect Your grace and kindness, and may my heart always find its true home in Your love—the place where real joy and lasting peace are found. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

He is no fool who gives what he can not keep to gain that which he can not lose.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

All Our Dumbness

All Our Dumbness…

William Tennent was known for his eloquent preaching. One day, he worked hard to prepare a sermon that would win over a well-known unbeliever to God. When the time came to deliver it, he became so confused that he couldn’t speak. Feeling dumb, he just stopped and closed the service with a prayer.

In the past, the unbeliever had been amazed with the power of his eloquence. This astonishing failure led him to the conclusion that, on other times, Tennent had to have been aided by divine power. As a result of this realization, he accepted the Lord.

Afterward, Tennent reflected that his dumbest sermon was the most profitable he’d ever preached. You may have also done dumb things in life that you regret. But God can and will use those dumb things for His purposes.

Our faith isn’t based on our wisdom but on His. Don’t live in regret. Take all the dumb things you’ve ever done in your life and lift them up to God.

Ask Him to use them for His redemption. Then leave them in His hands and trust Him because anything less is just plain dumb.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.  James 3:17

Take all the dumb things you’ve done in your life and lift them up to God. Ask Him to redeem them and thank Him for doing that.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Now Faith Is

Now Faith Is…

Good morning,

Today, let’s embrace the inspiring message from Hebrews 11:1, reminding us of the unwavering confidence and hope that come from true faith. May this truth uplift and encourage us as we begin our day.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1

Faith is the secret ingredient that turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. It’s the spark that ignites our dreams and propels us forward, even when life is uncertain. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we don’t see. It means believing in God’s promises, even when our circumstances look different.

True faith shines brightest in darkness. It’s the light that guides us through doubt and the anchor that holds us steady in life’s storms. Faith isn’t just a feeling; it’s a choice. It’s deciding to trust God, even when we don’t understand His plan. It’s a step forward, even when we can’t see the whole staircase.

Every time we choose faith, we unlock God’s power in our lives. We tap into a strength that helps us move mountains and conquer giants. Today, let’s put our faith in the One who is always faithful. Let’s step out of our comfort zones and onto the waves of possibility. With God, all things are possible. Watch as He turns our faith into a testament of His goodness and grace.

Father, Thank You for the amazing gift of faith that turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. When life feels uncertain and I can’t see the way forward, help me to trust in Your promises. Strengthen my faith to shine brightly during the darkest times, guiding me through doubts and holding me steady in life’s storms. Encourage me to step out of my comfort zone, knowing that with You, all things are possible. Fill my heart with confidence in Your plan and let my life be a testament to Your goodness and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

How To Hear The New

How To Hear The New…

It takes time for sound waves to travel through space. It takes time as well for your mind to process the sound. So, no matter how close you are to somebody speaking, there’s always a delay between what they said, and when you hear what you think they said.

Think about it. If you hear only with your ears, then you can only hear old news. But the Gospel is always new. If you hear it only with your ears, you’ll never hear it. For your ears can only hear old news.

That’s why if you just listen to a sermon with your ears, you’ll never really hear God talking. The one way you can hear good news from God is by learning to listen with your heart.

Let your heart hear what God’s saying right now. Hear His love, His joy, His truth, His command, His calling in your life, and His good news. It will change your life.

The next time you hear the Word of God, listen with your heart. For most of the time, the thing that’s really keeping you from hearing God is your ear.

Making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding. Proverbs 2:2

Listen with your heart to what the Word of God is saying to you today.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Limitless

Limitless…

Good morning,

As dawn breaks and we step into the grace of a new day, let’s uplift our hearts with the power of God’s limitless possibilities, a promise made evident in our verse today.

Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man, this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’  Mark 10:27

Do you ever find yourself standing before your personal Everest, staring at an obstacle that feels impossible to overcome? In these moments—when we feel utterly helpless—Jesus’ words in Mark 10:27 become our lifeline: “With man, this is impossible, but not with God.”

This isn’t just a feel-good slogan; it’s a shift in perspective. While the world glorifies self-reliance, Jesus calls us to see our limitations as opportunities for His power to shine.

The promise isn’t that our problems vanish but that God steps in when we reach the end of ourselves. It’s about letting go and allowing the Master Craftsman to turn our obstacles into opportunities.

Remember, the same God who created the universe isn’t intimidated by your impossible. What feels like a dead end is the beginning of His work. Today, face your mountain not with fear but with anticipation—because it’s the stage for God’s next miracle.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God who does the impossible. When I stand before mountains that seem too high, remind me that You’re the One who moves them. Help me let go of trying to solve everything on my own and open my heart to the incredible ways You work. Give me the courage to see my obstacles as moments for Your power to shine. Let my life be a reflection of how You can do far more than I could ever ask or imagine. And when doubts creep in, ground me in the truth that Your plans are always good and always for my best. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Moses spent forty years thinking he was somebody; forty years learning he was nobody; and forty years discovering what God can do with a nobody.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Commit To The Lord

Commit To The Lord…

Today, let’s embrace the wisdom of Proverbs 16:3 and entrust our plans to the Lord. As we navigate the day’s tasks and responsibilities, may we find peace and purpose in surrendering our ways to Him.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.
Proverbs 16:3

Have you ever found yourself striving to make your plans work, only to feel like you’re spinning your wheels? It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of life, trying to control every outcome on our own. But Proverbs 16:3 invites us into a different way of living – a life of surrender and trust.

When we commit our work to the Lord, we’re not just asking for His blessing; we’re inviting Him into the process. We’re acknowledging that His wisdom surpasses our own, and His vision for our lives is far greater than anything we could imagine.

As we yield our plans to God, He begins to shape and direct our steps in remarkable ways. He aligns our efforts with His purposes, and He brings forth fruit that endures.

So today, whatever tasks or projects lie before you, take a moment to entrust them to the Lord. Lay them at His feet, and invite Him to guide your path. Trust that as you commit your way to Him, He will establish your steps and lead you into His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Heavenly Father, I offer you my day and all that it holds. As I commit each task and decision to You, guide me by Your Holy Spirit. Establish my steps in Your truth and expand my understanding of Your ways. May my work bear fruit that glorifies You and draws others closer to Your love. Strengthen me to trust in Your faithful provision and perfect timing. Thank You for the assurance that when I place my plans in Your hands, they will succeed according to Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supplies.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Right Before Your Eyes

Right Before Your Eyes…

Miriam of Magdala, Mary Magdalene, was standing by a tomb weeping over the death of her Rabbi. When she turned around and saw Him, she didn’t realize it was Him. Thinking He was the gardener, she said, “Tell me where you put Him and I’ll get Him.” He said to her, “Miriam.” She answered, “Rabboni,” which means my Rabbi.

All she could think was that her beloved Rabbi was gone. And yet, He was standing right there beside her. It’s easy for us to get bogged down by our problems, or by what we think is missing in our lives, what we don’t have, or what we long for.

We end up like Miriam, our souls filled with sorrow, wrapped up in what we don’t have in our lives, blind to seeing the treasure we do have. If you’re saved, don’t dwell on what you don’t have in your life.

For the greatest blessing you could ever know or have in your life, you have. For your beloved Rabbi, the Answer, is standing right beside you. Just open the eyes of your heart and see.

The LORD has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your Savior comes! See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.’” Isaiah 62:11

Today, open your eyes and see the blessings and treasures that fill your life.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Seeds of Generosity

Seeds of Generosity…

Good morning,

Today, let’s embrace the beauty of generosity—how God enriches us so that we can pour out His love to others.

You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us, your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
2 Corinthians 9:11

Today’s passage invites us to view God’s blessings in our lives as seeds of generosity meant to be sown into the lives of others. It reminds us that our enrichment isn’t an endpoint but a beginning – a starting line for a journey of giving and sharing.

In this verse, Paul isn’t just talking about financial wealth. He’s speaking of a richness of spirit, a bounty of kindness, and a wealth of compassion. These are the true treasures we are called to share. Every act of generosity, no matter how small, becomes a reflection of God’s love in the world.

This kind of giving goes beyond mere charity. It’s an act of worship, a tangible expression of our thanksgiving to God. When we give, we acknowledge that everything we have is a gift from Him. We become conduits of His grace, touching lives and creating ripples of kindness that extend far beyond our reach.

As we reflect on this message, let’s consider how we can live out this call to generosity today. It could be through our time, our words, our resources, or our actions. Each act of giving is a testament to the One who gives to us so abundantly.

Gracious God, Thank You for enriching my life in so many ways. Please open my heart to see the blessings You’ve given me and the opportunities to share them with others. Help me to give with a generous and joyful spirit, trusting that each small act of kindness reflects Your love. Use me as a channel of Your grace, so that through my generosity, others may see Your goodness. Teach me to hold loosely to what I have, knowing that You are my provider and that Your abundance never runs dry. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Generosity is not about how much or what we give but how much love we put into giving.

Walk daily with God at your!

The Silent Truth

The Silent Truth…

In John 18, Jesus is standing before Pontius Pilate on trial for His life. Pilate asks Him, “What is truth?” It’s a question man has been asking from the beginning. What was the Lord’s response?

As far as the Scriptures are concerned, He never said anything. Why didn’t He answer Pilate? He did, but not with words. Jesus is the truth. If He said something at that point, He would be speaking about the truth.

But about the truth isn’t the same as truth itself. What is the truth? Not merely the words of Jesus, but Jesus Himself, standing right there, before Pilate’s eyes without words.

Learn this profound truth. You need to tell your loved ones and the world the truth. But more than telling them about the truth, you need to show them the truth.

Don’t just talk about God’s love. Show them God’s love. Because people can argue with the words of Jesus, it’s very hard to argue with His presence, standing there right before their eyes.

Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.  John 17:17

Don’t just talk about God’s love today. Show it!

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼
