Blind Faith

Blind Faith…

In the heat wave of 1959, the whole area experienced a power failure. People found themselves without air conditioners or lights. Those downtown found themselves without lights or elevators.

However, one of the buildings, the blackout, didn’t cause as many problems. It was the Center of the Blind. The building was filled with 200 blind employees and 70 sighted employees. When the lights went out, the sighted workers were helpless, but the blind workers had no problem at all.

So the blind workers who knew every inch of the building without sight led the helpless sighted workers down the steps and onto the street. There’s a profound truth in this.

The Scriptures tell us to live not by our eyes but by faith and not by sight. If you live by sight, you’ll end up lost, helpless, and overcome by the dark.

But, if you live by faith and not by sight, then it won’t matter how dark things around you become because your light will never be turned off. So walk by faith, and you’ll never find yourself in the dark.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.  Ephesians 5:8

Today, make it your aim to live not by your eyes but by faith.

Walk daily with God at your side!

True Life

True Life…

Good morning! Today, let’s embrace the beautiful paradox of surrendering to Christ to truly find life. Let’s take a closer look at Galatians 2:20.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

For years, I thought being a Christian meant constantly striving to be “good enough.” I would wake up each day, determined to read my Bible more, pray harder, and somehow earn God’s favor. But no matter how hard I tried, I always felt like I was falling short.

Maybe you’ve found yourself in a similar cycle of striving and guilt. If so, I want to remind you that you’re not alone, and there’s a better way.

Galatians 2:20 tells us that when we put our faith in Jesus, our old, striving self is crucified with Him. We don’t have to live by our own strength anymore because Christ lives in us. This doesn’t mean we become passive, but it does mean we can rest in the truth that we are fully loved and accepted, not because of what we do, but because of what He has done.

Friend, this truth has set me free, and I know it can do the same for you. Today, let’s choose to live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us. Let’s allow His life to flow through us, transforming us from the inside out. There’s no greater joy than walking hand in hand with the One who gave it all for you.

Gracious God, In this quiet moment, I lay down my striving. Forgive me for trying to earn Your love through my own efforts, forgetting Your unconditional love. Thank You for the gift of Jesus, who bridged the gap I could never cross. Today, I choose to rest in Your grace. Fill me with Your Spirit so I may live by faith, not by my works. Transform my heart to reflect Your love and goodness to the world. I surrender my life to You, trusting that Your plans are better than I can imagine. May Your will be done in me, through me, and for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Grace is not opposed to effort. It is opposed to earning. Earning is an attitude. Effort is an action. Grace, you know, does not just have to do with forgiveness of sins alone.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Living Waters

Living Waters…

Rivers are important in God. In the days of the Kingdom, rivers of living water will flow from the House of the Lord in Jerusalem. Rivers represent God’s Spirit; always giving and flowing.

One of the first signs of the faith was that of the fish. But for many believers, a more accurate sign would be the beaver. Many believers act more like beavers than fish.

We dam up the flowing of God’s Spirit in our hearts and lives with unforgiveness, bitterness, compromise, fear, and doubt. We dam up our lives with walls against others.

When you build them, you dam up your life to missing the blessings God would have you know. As long as you live with dams, your life can’t flow in the blessings of God’s Spirit. So if you want to live with the blessing of God’s Spirit flowing freely in your life, break open that dam.

Break open that dam of unforgiveness, bitterness, compromise, gloom, fear, and that wall against that person. Then let the river of God’s blessing flow into your life because you’re a child of blessing and not a beaver.

I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 11:19

Today, tear down that dam that has hindered the blessing in your life or heart, and let the Spirit flow!

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Walk By Faith

Walk By Faith…

Today, let’s explore what it means to truly walk by faith and not by sight, trusting in God’s guidance every step of the way.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7

Life’s journey rarely unfolds as we expect. We often find ourselves at a crossroads, facing uncharted territories and detours we didn’t plan. Our human instinct craves clarity and control, but it’s in these moments of uncertainty that 2 Corinthians 5:7 speaks a profound truth: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Walking by faith isn’t about denying our fears or ignoring the challenges we face. It’s about looking fear in the eye and choosing trust anyway. It’s about believing that God’s plan is perfect, even when our circumstances seem to be anything but.

Faith calls us to surrender our need for control and to lean into the unknowable yet trustworthy heart of God. When we release our grip, we open ourselves to experiences and revelations that would otherwise remain hidden.

So today, if you’re feeling lost or uncertain, take a deep breath and step out in faith. Trust that the God who called you will also equip you and guide you through the twists and turns. Your faith walk may not be predictable, but with God as your compass, it will always lead you to a purposeful destination filled with unexpected blessings

What’s one step of faith God is calling you to take today?

How can you cultivate a heart of trust, even when the path ahead is unclear?

Father, sometimes, I feel so lost and unsure. Life doesn’t always go as I plan, and the road ahead seems foggy. But I remember Your promise – that I don’t have to walk by sight, but by faith in You.
Today, I choose to trust You. Help me to let go of my need to control everything and lean into Your loving arms. I know You have a plan for my life, even when I can’t see it yet. Please give me the courage to take the next step, even into the unknown. Be my compass, Lord, and guide me. With You by my side, I can overcome any obstacle and discover the blessings You have in store. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

The Alter and The Glory

3 Dec

The Alter and The Glory…

Do you want to see the miracles, the presence, the fullness, and the glory of God in your life? Three thousand years ago, the Temple of God was dedicated by King Solomon.

The priests offered up thousands of sacrifices, and the glory of God descended on the temple so thick and so heavy that the priests couldn’t stand to minister. First, they offered their offerings, and then the glory fell. Sacrifice and glory go together.

It happened in the Hebrew Scriptures and in the New Testament as well. The death of Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. What came after? The resurrection, the glory of God – First the sacrifice, then the glory.

So, if you want the glory of God to overflow in your life, you must first have the sacrifice. If you want God’s glory in your life, lay your life on the altar and give it to Him.

Live your life for the Lord, and your life will be a glorious one. Follow Him with all your heart, and the glory of God will come down. For where there is sacrifice, the glory is sure to follow.

When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.  2 Chronicles 7:1

What is the Lord calling you to sacrifice or offer up today? Do it. And move in the glory.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Simply Love

Simply Love…

Today, let’s discover afresh how God’s greatest truth comes wrapped in beautiful simplicity.

They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.’
Acts 16:31

It started with an earthquake. A jailer’s world literally crumbling around him. In that moment of desperation, he discovered what we all eventually find – our own strength will never be enough. “What must I do to be saved?” His question pierced the darkness.

For centuries, religion had made salvation complicated. Endless rules. Constant striving. Never quite measuring up. But that night, in a prison of all places, heaven’s answer rang with breathtaking simplicity: “Believe in the Lord Jesus.”

Not “get better first” or “prove yourself worthy.” Not “try harder” or “do more.” Just believe. Trust. Receive. In that moment, a prison became a sanctuary, and a jailer discovered what countless hearts have found since – when we stop trying to save ourselves, we find the One who already has.

That same invitation lights up every dark place today: believe in Jesus. Let grace do what all our striving never could.

Dear Lord, Sometimes, I complicate what You’ve made so simple. Thank You that You don’t require perfection—just faith. When doubts creep in or I’m tempted to rely on my own efforts, remind me that Your grace is sufficient. Help me rest in the beautiful simplicity of believing in You. Thank You for saving me, just as I am. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Your life as a Christian should make nonbelievers question their disbelief in God.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

The Power of The Word

2 Dec

The Power of The Word…

Growing up, I loved going to the movie theater and getting some snacks to eat while watching the movie. One of my favorites was Cracker Jacks because of the carmel corn and the little prize in the box.

That prize, in some ways, shows the difference between our faith and every other ideology or religion. With other belief systems, you try to follow the teachings and practices.

But the Gospel isn’t just about trying to follow a teaching or practice. It contains a gift, something real that’s given to you. It’s not about what’s true. It’s the giving of the Gift of Truth itself – Himself.

You can’t live the Christian life without His supernatural presence residing in you. It’s like holding a box of Cracker Jacks, but not reaching in for the prize.

For God so loved the world that He gave the greatest of gifts. That giving isn’t complete by teaching, doctrine, going to church, or Bible studies. They’re good, but the giving is made complete by receiving.

It’s time you reach deep down into your faith into the blessing of the gift. It’s as simple as pulling a prize out of a box of Cracker Jacks.

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

Today, take time to go deep into the Lord’s presence… and obtain the Prize – the gift of eternal life.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

With Thanksgiving In Our Hearts

With Thanksgiving In Our Hearts…

Good morning! Today, let’s look closely at Psalm 100:4 and rejoice that we have a Father who loves and cares so much for us.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalm 100:4

Today is a special day for us to give thanks to God for the good things He has done in our land, in our lives, and in the lives of our family members. When you take the time to pause and remember, you can see those times in your life when God brought you victory, brought you success.

When you remember that He is providing for all your needs, and you give thanks to God for who He is and the miracles He has done in your life, you will be transformed. And let us remember that thanksgiving is an attitude of our heart.

Living with an attitude of gratitude means you don’t just thank God for what He did in the past, you also thank Him for what He will do in the future.

You thank Him for opening new doors, for increasing you, and for bringing the right people into your life. When you thank God in advance, that’s really a declaration of faith. Live every day with an attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving.

Father, thank You that I can enter into Your presence with a heart full of thanksgiving. Thank You for providing for all my needs and doing exceedingly abundantly above all I could ever ask or imagine. I give You a sacrifice of praise, for You are good, and Your mercy endures forever! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Give thanks as if you are living just to appreciate life; live as if your life depends on love, kindness, gratitude, and thanksgiving because it really does.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Where Our Strength Comes From

Where Our Strength Comes From…

Good morning! Have a blessed day! Today, let’s choose courage! Remember, God is our constant source of strength. He walks beside us, empowering us for every step.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9

Life has a way of presenting us with challenges that can feel overwhelming. Whether it’s a major transition, a daunting task, or an uncertain future, it’s easy to feel afraid and discouraged. But in the midst of these challenges, God speaks powerful words of encouragement to us, just as He did to Joshua.

“Be strong and courageous.” These are not just empty words, but a command backed by a promise. God doesn’t tell us to muster up our own strength and courage, but to find them in Him. He is the source of our strength, the foundation of our courage.

“Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Why? Because the Lord our God is with us wherever we go. His presence is our comfort, His power is our confidence. We don’t face any challenge alone, but with the Almighty God by our side.

Today, whatever challenges you’re facing, remember that you are not alone. The same God who guided Joshua into the Promised Land is guiding you. The same God who gave Joshua victory is fighting for you. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

What challenges are you currently facing that require God’s strength and courage? Remember, He is there to help you through them. Be open and honest as you face them with a bit of humility.

Dear God, When life’s challenges threaten to overwhelm me, steady my heart with Your powerful promise. You command me to be strong and courageous, for You are the source of my strength. Remind me that I do not walk alone, but with the God of the universe by my side. Whatever difficulties I face today, let me find courage and confidence in Your loving presence. Just as You guided Joshua, guide my every step. With You as my foundation, I can move forward boldly into all You have for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Faith doesn’t mean an absence of fear. It means facing fear and trusting that God’s goodness is greater.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

He Endures Forever

He Endures Forever…

Today, let’s join the timeless chorus of those who have discovered God’s unchanging goodness. Good morning. Today, we are going to look at Psalm 118:1.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Psalm 118:1

Psalm 118:1 isn’t just a verse to memorize—it’s bedrock truth to build your life upon. When everything else feels shaky, when doubts creep in, when life doesn’t make sense, this remains: God is good. Not sometimes, not mostly—but completely, constantly, eternally good.

Think of it like an anchor holding firm in a storm. While waves of uncertainty crash around us, His goodness keeps us steady. His love isn’t a feeling that comes and goes—it’s as consistent as the sunrise, as dependable as the seasons, as endless as the ocean.

Today, whatever you’re facing, let this truth hold you: God’s goodness hasn’t changed, and His love will never run out. Not because life is perfect, but because He is faithful—yesterday, today, and forever.

Now, ask yourself how God’s enduring love sustained you through difficult times?

Heavenly Father, thank You for being the unshakeable ground beneath my feet. Today, I bring You everything – my joys, my struggles, the questions that weigh on my heart. Remind me that while there are so many changes around me, Your goodness remains constant and true. Help me rest in the peace that comes from knowing You. Not because I can see the way ahead, but because You are faithful, unchanging, and always near. Thank You for being the anchor my heart can always trust. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

God gave us a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say ‘thank you’?

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼
