God says: “Lean On Me”

30 Sep

God says: “Lean On Me”

Good morning,

Today, let’s lean on God as our strength and support. He is the wellspring that never runs dry.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:26

Sometimes, it feels like our bodies and our spirits are running on empty. We get tired, hearts grow heavy, and our strength seems to vanish. The psalmist understood this battle – his words in Psalm 73:26 confess, “My flesh and my heart may fail…”

But there’s a turning point, a declaration that cuts through the weariness: “…but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” This isn’t about ignoring our struggles, but finding a way through them. It’s choosing to recognize that our own resources have a limit and that God’s well of strength never runs dry. When we feel weak, He is our support. When we feel aimless, He is our purpose. When we crave fulfillment, He is the source.

May this verse be a lifeline today. When we feel weak, may we remember the One who strengthens us. When we feel discouraged, may we find true fulfillment in the God who is our everlasting portion. His unwavering love and strength are our safe harbor and constant source of renewal.

Dear Heavenly Father, Life can drain me, leaving me feeling weary and lost. Just like the psalmist, I sometimes feel my strength fading. But Your word offers a powerful truth: You are the strength of my heart and my everlasting portion.
Help me not to ignore my struggles but to turn to You as my source of strength. Fill me with Your love, the wellspring that never runs dry. Guide me when I feel lost, and remind me that my true fulfillment lies in You. May I find in You my safe harbor and constant source of renewal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Peace doesn’t come from finding a lake with no storms. It comes from having Jesus in the boat.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Risks of The Righteous

30 Sep

The Risk of The Righteous…

Some people are bold risk-takers. Others are timid and cautious. You need to be cautious in the areas of temptation, sin, and what you accept as truth.

But in order to grow in the Lord, you also have to step out, leave the old, and walk in the newness of life. You can’t do that without taking risks. You may have thought that the safest life is a life of no risk.

But in the end, you’ll risk never knowing the life of blessings, victories, meaning, purpose, and joy you were always meant to live. Abraham, Moses, David, Elijah, Jeremiah, John, Peter, and Paul all were required to take risks for God, to step out in faith.

You need to do the same. So step out today and take an action of Holy Spirit boldness, of love, repentance, change, evangelism, giving, compassion, forgiveness, faith, and bold newness of life.

Take a risk for God and for His Kingdom, and you’ll be blessed. He’ll be with you all the way because in God, a life of risk is the only sure bet, and really no risk at all.

The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.  Proverbs 28:1

Today, take a risk for God and His kingdom in Holy Spirit boldness.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

God’s Love

29 Sep

God’s Love…

Good morning,

Today, let’s reflect on the overwhelming love of God that surpasses anything we can imagine.

Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You.
Psalm 63:3

Psalm 63:3 reminds us that in this life, there’s something far more precious than anything we could ever chase after – God’s love. David, who knew a thing or two about hard times, declared this love was better than life itself. It’s deeper than any achievement, more fulfilling than any possession.

When we truly grasp the magnitude of God’s love – a love that relentlessly pursues us, a love that sees our flaws and loves us anyway – it changes everything. It becomes our joy, our anchor, and the very reason we sing praises to Him.

Today, let’s not get caught up in the rat race. Let’s pause and remember the love that truly satisfies, the love that never runs out. When life gets tough, let God’s love be the first thing on your mind because it’s the only thing that truly lasts.

What does it mean for God’s love to be “better than life?”

Dear God, Even when life gets messy and I feel unsteady, I’m reminded that Your love for me is constant and strong. Thank you for loving me unconditionally, no matter what I face. Help me to grab hold of Your love and let it fill me up, especially on the days when I’m feeling empty or adrift. I want to seek You wholeheartedly, just like David did even in the wilderness. Please be my strength, my anchor, my guide. Let Your unfailing love steady my steps and light my path through every season of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The maker of the stars would rather die for you than live without you. And that is a fact. So if you need to brag, brag about that.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Making Peace

29 Sep

Making Peace…

We are called to be the peacemakers or makers of shalom. We’re to bring God’s shalom, His peace, fullness, wellbeing, and joy into the world – even into our lives. We do this by following the way of the greatest peacemaker: Jesus

He made peace by heading to Jerusalem to die on the cross for our sins, not by running away, avoiding, or being forced into reluctantly facing it. You’ll never have true peace in your life by running away or trying to avoid your problem.

Jesus made peace by dealing with the problem head-on. He ran to it and tackled it with all His might. That is Calvary, and that’s how you’re to have peace. Follow in the footsteps of the Prince of Shalom.

Don’t live in the shadow of your problem. Don’t let it harass you, intimidate you, or limit your life anymore. Deal with it head on in the power of the One who deals with everything head on.

It’s harder only for a moment, but then you’ll be blessed with victory and be free. For after Calvary comes the power of resurrection and the presence of shalom.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.  Matthew 5:9

Today, don’t fear your problems. In the power of God, meet them head-on.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

He Restores My Soul

28 Sep

Good morning,

He Restores My Soul…

Today, let’s discover the restful peace our Shepherd provides in life’s chaos.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.
Psalm 23:2

Imagine being led to a place where your soul can breathe, where the noise of life fades, and you feel completely at peace. That’s the picture Psalm 23:2 paints. God doesn’t just provide physical rest; He restores our souls in ways nothing else can.

In a world constantly pushing us to do more and be more, God calls us to simply be still. He leads us to “green pastures”—a symbol of abundance and peace—and “quiet waters” where our spirits are refreshed. This isn’t a reward for being strong or having it all together. It’s a gift from a loving Shepherd who knows exactly what we need, even when we don’t.

Today, take a moment to pause. Rest in the truth that you don’t have to carry everything on your own. God is inviting you to find peace and restoration in His presence. Let Him guide you to those quiet waters, where your soul can be renewed.

Dear Lord, My soul longs for some quiet time with You. Help me find moments of stillness and surrender my worries at Your feet. Guide me to those peaceful places where my spirit can rest. Deep down, I trust in Your perfect plan for me, even when the path seems uncertain. Lead me to that place of rest and renewal, where I can truly recharge. Thank you for being my Shepherd and for always knowing what’s best for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We need to find God, and he can not be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

The Bridal Weakness

28 Sep

The Bridal Weakness…

Paul asked God to take away his weakness. God replied, “My grace is sufficient for you. For my strength is perfected in weakness.” The strength of God is made perfect in our weakness.

Think about that. How could God need anything of ours to perfect His strength? In one sense, He doesn’t. But He’s chosen to, in a sense, need us so that His strength would become perfect within us – and not just within us, but through us, through our weakness.

We tend to despise our weaknesses, but we must remember that we are His bride. We’re not meant to be complete without Him. Don’t think your weakness separates you from God. God would tell you, ‘Your weakness was made for My strength, and My strength is perfected in your weakness.’

So don’t despise your weakness. Your weakness is there to remind you that you were never made to be alone. Therefore, bring your weaknesses to Him because your weaknesses need His strength, and His strength longs for your weaknesses, that through them it may become perfect.

Strengthen the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.  Isaiah 35:3-4

Today, bring your weaknesses to Him and let His strength be made perfect in you.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

The Bread of Life

27 Sep

The Bread of Life…

Good morning,

Today, let’s explore the deep satisfaction found in Jesus, the Bread of Life.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
John 6:35

Have you ever stood in front of a fridge full of food yet felt like nothing could satisfy your hunger? Life without Jesus can feel like that—surrounded by options, yet nothing truly fills us. In John 6:35, Jesus offers something more than temporary satisfaction. He calls Himself the bread of life, the only source of nourishment that satisfies the deepest longings of our hearts.

Jesus isn’t offering a quick fix or a temporary meal. He’s inviting us into a relationship where our souls find lasting fulfillment. In Him, we find peace that doesn’t waver with circumstances, joy that endures, and a love that never runs dry.

Coming to Jesus isn’t just a one-time moment; it’s an ongoing journey. Each day, He invites us to bring our doubts, our struggles, and our joys and find that He is more than enough. Today, whatever is leaving you feeling empty, remember: Jesus is the bread of life. He’s offering not just sustenance but a feast of grace that will never run out.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for being the Bread of Life, the one who satisfies the deepest longings of my heart. When I feel empty or lost, remind me to come to You for true nourishment and peace. Fill my soul with Your presence, calming my restless spirit and quenching my thirst for meaning. Lead me daily to Your table of grace, where my doubts and fears are met with Your love and strength. Thank You for being more than enough for me, always offering what I need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

He Who Is In Went Out

27 Sep

He Who Is In Went Out…

As teenagers, most of us were concerned about what was in and what was out – clothes, music, the crowd. Even as we get older, we tend to conform to the “in” way of doing things in our culture.

In first century Judea, Jerusalem was in, and everything else was out. That’s why it’s so significant that Jesus specifically suffered outside the gate. He’s the very center of existence.

He’s the epitome of “in.” He is in-ness incarnate, and yet, He went outside to suffer. He died outside the gate.

In other words, He who was in went out so that those who were out could come in. He declares the outside in. So, never try to fit in. You don’t have to fit in.

Start fitting out. Let go of popularity, acceptance, and what the world thinks of as success and go out to the outcast, the unsaved, out to the world’s out because there you’ll find Jesus.

As it is written, Jesus suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go out to Him, outside the camp bearing His reproach. From now on, out is in… in is out.

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.  Luke 14:23

Today, go outside the gate of your comfort zone and minister to those outside.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Holiness

26 Sep

Holiness…

Good morning,

Today, let’s find encouragement in the call to holiness found in 1 Peter 1:16, reminding us of the high standard God sets for His children.

For it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’
1 Peter 1:16

Holiness. It’s a word that can seem daunting, even unattainable. We see our flaws, our mistakes, and wonder how we could ever be holy. But holiness isn’t about achieving perfection on our own; it’s about reflecting God’s heart in our daily lives.

Just as a mirror reflects an image, we are called to reflect God’s holiness in our thoughts, words, and actions. This doesn’t mean striving for flawlessness by our strength but rather surrendering to God’s transformative power. It’s about letting Him shape us, mold us, and refine us daily.

Holiness is a journey, not a destination. It’s a daily commitment to walk in step with the Spirit, pursue purity, and live in a way that honors God. Each day presents new opportunities to grow more like Christ, to let His light shine through us in a world that desperately needs hope and love.

So today, let’s embrace the call to holiness with joy and determination. Let’s not settle for mediocrity or compromise. Instead, let’s strive to live lives that reflect God’s character, bringing His light and love into every corner of our world.

If you look inside yourself and find one way to reflect Gods holiness, what would your answer be?

Dear God, Today I come to You, aware of my flaws and mistakes. I’m grateful that holiness isn’t about my own perfection but about reflecting Your heart in my daily life. Please help me surrender to Your transforming power, shaping and molding me each day. Guide me to walk in step with Your Spirit, pursuing purity and living in a way that honors You. Fill me with joy and determination to reflect Your character, spreading Your light and love in every corner of my world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Holiness is not the way to Christ; Christ is the way to holiness. You don’t work your way to the way. He is the way.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Believe and You Will Stand

26 Sep

Believe and You Will Stand…

Isaiah 7:9 in the KJV reads, “If you will not believe surely you shall not be established.” The NASB reads, “If you will not believe, you surely shall not last.”

But the NIV hints at something special going on in Hebrew. It reads, “If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.”

If you read the Hebrew, you find a play on words: “Lo taaminu ki lo teamenu” or “If you will not believe, you will not be established.” You see, in Hebrew, there’s no difference between trusting and being strong in God.

The truth is, your walk is only as sure as your faith. Your spirituality is only as steadfast as your belief.

Your life is only as strong as your conviction. You don’t become strong by trying to be strong, you become strong by strongly believing.

So choose to trust God with all your heart because if you don’t stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all. Stand firm in your faith, and you will stand strong in all.

But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.  Jeremiah 17:7

Commit to standing firm in your faith today and in your life, no matter what comes your way.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼
