Showering Grace

11 Aug

Showering Grace…

Good morning,

As we step into the light of a new day, let’s pause and draw close to the heart of God’s word together, embracing the journey ahead with hope and grace.

May He be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth.
Psalm 72:6

In life’s landscape, there are seasons where everything feels cut down, much like a field after the harvest, bare and exposed. Yet, Psalm 72:6 whispers a divine promise into our weary hearts: it speaks of God’s restorative grace, showering down upon us like rain on a mown field, transforming barrenness into a place of growth and abundance.

Let’s envision our challenges and setbacks not as the end but as the soil prepared for new growth. Just as rain revives the parched earth, God’s grace revitalizes our spirits, nurturing seeds of hope, faith, and renewal. Today, remember that God’s mercies are new every morning, and His faithfulness is as reliable as the dawn following a long night.

May we open our hearts to receive this heavenly rain, allowing it to wash away our weariness, to refresh our souls, and to bring forth new life where we thought none could exist. In God’s tender care, every season of pruning leads to a harvest of joy.

Dear Father, In seasons where I feel cut down and bare, I cling to Your promise in Psalm 72:6. Like rain on a mown field, let Your grace shower upon me, restoring and revitalizing my weary soul. Transform the barren places within me into fertile ground for growth. Nurture the seeds of hope, faith, and renewal, causing them to flourish by Your tender care. Wash away my weariness, refresh my spirit, and bring forth new life where I thought none could exist. Strengthen me with the assurance that every season of pruning ultimately leads to a harvest of joy. Thank You for Your faithfulness and mercy, new every morning. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Trials are the soil in which faith flourishes.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Strategy of the Sheep

11 Aug

The Strategy of the Sheep…

Jesus spoke of wolves and sheep. If you belong to Him, you’re a sheep, not a wolf. Wolves are carnivores that hunt in packs. Wolves are considerably stronger, more cunning, and more ferocious than sheep.

The Lord describes the enemy of our souls as a wolf. Sheep are timid animals who graze in herds and are without any self-protection from predators. Though sheep are defenseless on their own, they’re usually with a shepherd.

So wise sheep learn to not trust in their own strength, abilities, discernment, or perception. Instead, they learn to trust the shepherd even above their own eyes. You’re no match for the enemy and the things which war against your soul, but you’re not on your own.

You have a Shepherd. He’s the Shepherd of your soul, and the things which war against your soul are no match for Him. So trust not in your strength or judgment, but learn to trust in His. Stay close by His side and you’ll be alright.

His rod and staff will comfort you, and His goodness and loving kindness will follow you all the days of your life.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Psalm 23:4

Today, be a wise sheep by staying close to your Shepherd and let His rod and staff comfort you.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Embrace Today

Embrace Today…

Good morning,

As we embrace this new day, let us turn our hearts to a message of trust and hope from Matthew 6:34. May this scripture inspire us to live fully in the present, embracing God’s grace in every moment.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:34

In Matthew 6:34, Jesus gently reminds us to set aside our worries about the future and live fully in the present. This message is a heartening call to trust in God’s loving plan. It speaks to the beauty and simplicity of faith, where each day is entrusted to God’s care. We often get entangled in the what-ifs of tomorrow, yet Jesus encourages us to lean on God’s strength today, for He holds all our tomorrows.

Living out this scripture means embracing each day with gratitude and a heart open to God’s guidance. It’s about recognizing that while we can’t see the entire path ahead, we can take confident steps, knowing God is with us. Let this verse inspire us to cherish today, find peace in God’s presence, and trust in His unfailing love for our future.

In what ways can you be more present and grateful for the blessings and lessons of this moment?

Gracious Father, As I step into today, help me remember that each moment is a gift from You, not to be overshadowed by the worries of what tomorrow might bring. Guide me to trust more deeply in Your provision and care, finding peace in the knowledge that You’re with me, through every up and down. May my heart be light, my spirit joyful, and my mind focused on the blessings You pour into this day. Let me spread kindness and hope, grounded in the faith that You hold all my tomorrows. Amen.

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows; it empties today of its strength.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Good Fight

9 Aug

The Good Fight…

Good morning,

Today, let’s draw inspiration from Paul’s unwavering commitment to Christ as he faced his final days.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith.   2 Timothy 4:7

Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 4:7 aren’t just a personal victory lap; they’re a powerful testament to a life poured out in service. Writing from a Roman prison, facing execution, Paul looks back not with regret, but with the quiet satisfaction of a race well run.

“I have fought the good fight” – this isn’t about winning arguments, but about standing firm in truth, even when it costs us. In a world that often prefers comfortable lies to challenging truths, Paul reminds us that some battles are worth fighting.

“I have finished the race” speaks to perseverance. Life’s marathon includes steep hills of hardship and valleys of doubt, but Paul encourages us to keep moving forward, one faithful step at a time.

“I have kept the faith” – perhaps the most crucial. In a culture of shifting beliefs, Paul held fast to the gospel, guarding it with his life.

Today, as we face our own challenges, Paul’s words call us to live with purpose and integrity. Our individual races may look different, but the goal remains the same: a life faithful to God’s call, run with endurance, all the way to the finish line.

In what areas of your life are you called to stand firm in truth, even when it’s challenging?

How can you persevere through current difficulties, trusting that God is guiding?

What does “keeping the faith” look like in your daily life?

Heavenly Father, Today, I’m inspired by Paul’s unwavering faith. Grant me that same strength to stand firm in Your truth, even when the world around me shifts and sways. Help me to run my race with integrity, not for applause or recognition, but for the joy of knowing I’m following Your call. When the road gets tough, when doubts creep in, or when weariness sets in, remind me that I’m not alone. You are with me, guiding my steps, and cheering me on. May my life be a living testament to Your love, grace, and truth. May others see You in me, and may I run this race with purpose and passion, all the way to the finish line. Thank You for the strength You provide and the promise of a glorious reward. I trust in You, today, and always. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

God does not require us to be successful; He requires us to be faithful.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Hebrews – The Authorless Book

9 Aug

Hebrews – The Authorless Book…

The Book of Hebrews is a powerful book. It speaks of Melchizedek, Yom Kippur, the warriors of faith, the Sabbath, the priesthood, and more: a masterpiece of God’s Spirit. And yet, we don’t actually know who penned Hebrews because the person never put their name on it.

Imagine being the vessel to write one of the greatest influential books in world history but never putting your name on it. Too often our names get in the way of our walk and what God wants to do in our lives; we want credit, appreciation, thanks, and approval.

It’s written in Romans that a true Jew is one whose praise isn’t from man but from God. That’s for you if you’re born again. It’s also written that your life is to be a living epistle. That being the case, let it be like the book of Hebrews.

Get your ego out of the picture. Get into the joy of doing everything for His Glory, not yours. Then your motives will be pure, your works will be of heaven, and your life will be a masterpiece with no name but the Name of God.

Therefore, God has highly exalted him and given him a name that is above every name.  Philippians 2:9

Today, get into the joy of being anonymous, glorifying God and not yourself.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Let Them Go

8 Aug

Let Them Go…

Good morning,

Today, let’s embrace the freedom that comes from releasing our burdens to the One who carries them with perfect love.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.  Psalm 103:12

In our human nature, we often cling to our past mistakes, allowing guilt and shame to define us. We mentally replay our faults, carrying burdens long after God has lifted them from our shoulders. But Psalm 103:12 offers a gentle reminder of the vastness of God’s forgiveness.

This verse isn’t about minimizing our wrongdoings; rather, it’s an invitation to fully embrace the freedom God offers. It’s about recognizing that while our memory might be long, God’s forgiveness is infinitely longer. He doesn’t just forgive; He removes our transgressions completely, placing them at an unreachable distance.

As you go about your day, allow this verse to sink into your heart. Acknowledge your mistakes, but do so with a spirit of gratitude for God’s forgiveness. Trust in His mercy, for He sees you not as you were, but as He has made you to be – forgiven, loved, and free.

Dear Heavenly Father, As I begin this day, I’m grateful for the fresh start Your forgiveness brings. I confess, sometimes the weight of past mistakes tries to hold me back, but Your Word reminds me You’ve cast them far away. Help me truly grasp the depth of Your grace. When guilt creeps in, whisper to my heart that I am forgiven and loved. Empower me to let go of the past and walk confidently in the freedom You offer. May Your forgiveness flow through me, extending the same grace to others. I trust You with my entire story – past, present, and future. Thank You for Your boundless love and mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Challenge of The 80 Year Old Man

8 Aug

The Challenge of The 80 Year Old Man…

Moses went into the wilderness to avoid Egypt. Decades later at 80 years old he encounters God. When you’re an 80 year old Jewish man, you’d rather move to Miami and play bingo. But God told Moses to go to Egypt and deal with Pharaoh, the very center of his problem.

It was only by dealing with the problem head on, with the power of God to back him up, could he be free from the shadow that hung over him the past 40 years of his life. He would no doubt have rather gone to Miami, but the only way to free Israel was to go deal with Pharaoh instead.

You can’t conquer your problem by running away from it. God didn’t call you to avoid but to conquer and overcome through the power of His Spirit. You’ve got a choice. You can try to live a comfortable life or live a victorious life.

So go for victory! Go down and confront that problem head-on. God will be with you. Victory will come when you confront your Pharaoh and forget about the bingo.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  1 Corinthians 15:57

Today, confront that problem or challenge by the power of God and find your victory!

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Smile – God Is With You

Smile – God Is With You…

Good morning,

When the world says “can’t,” and doubt whispers “won’t,” remember: our God specializes in the impossible. May this truth fuel your steps and bring a smile to your face today.

Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.’
Matthew 19:26

Have you ever faced a situation that seemed utterly impossible? A problem so big, a dream so far out of reach, a challenge so overwhelming that you couldn’t see a way forward? If we’re honest, we’ve all been there. And it’s precisely in those moments that Jesus’ words in Matthew 19:26 become a lifeline.

“With God,” Jesus says, “all things are possible.” Not some things, not just the easy things, but all things. This isn’t a trite saying or a hollow promise. It’s a declaration of the very nature of the God we serve. A God who is not limited by what we see as limitations. A God who specializes in the impossible.

When we truly grasp this truth, it changes everything. It means that no matter what we’re facing, we have a God who is bigger. It means that our impossible situations are simply opportunities for Him to display His power. It means that when we’ve reached the end of our own strength and wisdom, His are just beginning.

So today, whatever impossible situation you’re facing, bring it to God. Not with a spirit of resignation but with a heart full of expectation. Because the God who spoke the universe into existence, the God who raised Jesus from the dead, the God who has parted seas and moved mountains—that same God is with you. And with Him, all things are possible.

Think of one situation that feels impossible. Now, imagine that situation with God’s limitless power woven into it. How does this change your perspective?

Heavenly Father, sometimes, my problems feel bigger than my faith. Thank You for reminding me that nothing is too hard for You. Help me to trust You with my “impossibles” – my worries, my dreams, my struggles. When I’m tempted to give up, remind me of Your power. Give me the courage to step out in faith, even when I can’t see the way forward. Open my eyes to see possibilities where I only see obstacles. Thank You for being a God who specializes in the impossible. Increase my faith, Lord, and help me to live each day with the confidence that with You, all things are truly possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man’s power ends.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Therefore, Go

7 Aug

Therefore,  Go…

If you aren’t sharing the love of God with those who are lost because you don’t believe you’re called to evangelism or the mission field, I want to reveal an incredible thing about your life. You are called to the mission field. And the sign that you’ve been called to the mission field is that you’ve been put on planet earth.

Earth is the mission planet. It’s the planet that God came to on His mission of salvation. You don’t have to journey to some foreign land to go on a mission; you’re already on a mission. If you’re born again, then you’re born from above and you’ve already journeyed to your mission field.

Open your eyes and look all around you. This planet is your mission field, and all around you are the natives: the cashier, the mailman, your boss, your parents, your spouse, your relatives, the stranger, the needy, and the outcast.

Should you go into the mission field? No! You are already in the mission field. Wake up and remember who you are. You’ve been called to the mission field, and earth is its name.

How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!  Romans 10:15

Today, go through every circumstance and place as if you were on a mission field – because you are!

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

It’s The Little Things

6 Aug

It’s The Little Things…

Good morning,

Today, let’s explore how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in God’s kingdom.

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices, God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16

In a world that often celebrates grand gestures, God invites us to find beauty in the ordinary. It’s not about changing the entire world overnight; it’s about brightening someone’s world today.

Imagine the ripple effect of your kindness: the colleague uplifted by your encouraging word during a stressful project, the elderly neighbor touched by your offer to mow their lawn, or the harried parent grateful for your patience as they wrangle a fussy toddler in the checkout line.

These acts might seem small to us, but they’re treasures in God’s eyes. Why? Because they reflect His heart. Each time we choose compassion over indifference, we mirror the God who gave everything for us.

Today, let’s be on the lookout for these golden opportunities. They often come disguised as interruptions or inconveniences. But remember, in God’s economy, these moments are chances to participate in His work of love.

No act of kindness is ever wasted. In God’s hands, even our smallest offerings can spark a chain reaction of hope and love in a world that desperately needs both.

Dear God, Your love reminds me that even the smallest act of kindness can ripple out and change someone’s world. Today, help me be Your hands and feet. Open my eyes to the needs around me – a listening ear, a helping hand, or just a warm smile. Give me a heart that’s quick to show compassion and slow to judge. Let Your love shine through my actions, not just in big moments, but in those everyday opportunities that are so easy to miss. Thank You for the chances You give me to make a difference. Help me notice them, embrace them, and bring Your light into others’ lives, one small kindness at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We are all pencils in the hands of a writing God, who is sending love letters to the world.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼
