Witches and Wizards

21 Aug

Witches and Wizards…

The occult is popular in our day under the guise of New Age; fortune tellers, psychic readers, astrology, daily horoscopes, Eastern meditation, etc. And there are believers who in some way consult these things or think its harmless entertainment.

Deuteronomy 18:9 says, “When you enter the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations.”

So what are they? They’re detestable things to the Lord, and those who do them become detestable to Him. These things have no place in the life of a child of life.

If you’re born again, renounce all darkness in your life and walk in the light because though once you were of darkness … now you are light.

A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.  Acts 19:19

Is there anything in your life that belongs to the realm of darkness? Renounce it today, be free, and walk in the light.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Beyond The Surface

Beyond The Surface…

Good morning,

Today, let’s explore the wonder of God’s unique creation in each of us.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, and I know that full well.
Psalm 139:14

Have you ever looked in the mirror and wished you could change something about yourself? In a world that thrives on comparison and highlights our flaws, it’s easy to forget the profound truth of Psalm 139:14: You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Imagine the Master Artist, the Creator of the universe, carefully crafting every detail of your being. He didn’t create you by chance or without thought. He sculpted you with intention and love. Your quirks, your talents, your unique perspective on the world – all these are brushstrokes on the masterpiece that is you.

“Fearfully” doesn’t mean He was afraid; it speaks of the awe-inspiring reverence with which He created you. You are not an accident or a mistake. You are a one-of-a-kind treasure, precious in His sight.

Today, let’s silence the voices of self-doubt and comparison. Look in the mirror and see beyond the surface. Recognize the divine artistry woven into your very being. Embrace your unique gifts and quirks, knowing that they are part of God’s beautiful design.

When we truly grasp this truth, it transforms us from the inside out. It empowers us to walk with confidence, to love ourselves as God loves us, and to shine His light into the world.

Remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Live today as the masterpiece you are.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for creating me with such love and care. When I feel insecure or unworthy, remind me of Your truth—that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Help me to see myself through Your eyes, recognizing the beauty and purpose You’ve placed within me. Guide me to live each day with confidence, knowing that I am a reflection of Your wonderful works. Grant me the grace to embrace my unique design and to celebrate the person You’ve made me to be. Let me extend this same love and affirmation to others, encouraging them to see their worth in You. Fill my heart with gratitude and joy as I walk in the truth of who I am in Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

You are the only you God made… God made you and broke the mold.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Walking Beside Him

Walking Beside Him…

Good morning,

Today, let’s discover the strength and illumination that come from daily walking with God, even in the darkest of times.

You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.
2 Samuel 22:29

Imagine that you’re stumbling through a pitch-black room, arms outstretched, and fear rising. Suddenly, a warm light flickers on, held by someone who knows the way. That’s the heart of David’s declaration in 2 Samuel 22:29.

This isn’t about God being a distant streetlight. He’s our personal lamp, intimate and ever-present. In life’s darkest valleys – whether it’s a health crisis, a relationship breakdown, or a crisis of faith – God doesn’t just illuminate the path. He transforms the darkness itself into light.

Think about that power for a moment. It’s not just about seeing through the darkness but about the darkness itself being changed. Your confusion can become clarity. Your fear can become courage. Your sorrow can become hope.

Today, whatever shadows loom in your life, remember: you have a God who doesn’t just hold the light. He is the light. And in His presence, even the deepest darkness doesn’t stand a chance. Let His light guide your steps, warm your heart, and transform your perspective.

We all need God’s light to guide us through life. It is not a matter of trusting Him. It’s having the faith to know He is right beside you every step of the way.

Heavenly Father, You’re the light that chases away every shadow. When I’m lost in confusion, wrestling with doubts, or feeling afraid, I know I can turn to You. Shine Your wisdom on the choices I make, fill my relationships with Your love, and light up my future with Your hope. Even when darkness seems to surround me, remind me that You have the power to turn it into something beautiful. Guide my steps today, lighting the way forward, even when I can’t see it myself. Use me to be a reflection of Your light, Lord. Let me shine for those who are still stumbling in the dark. May my life show that You can bring light into any situation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

All the darkness in the world can not extinguish the light of a single candle.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

That You Might Know

20 Aug

That You Might Know…

In John 7:33, Jesus said, “For a little while longer I’m with you, then I go to Him who sent me. You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am you can’t come.”

Jesus is speaking about going back to the presence of the Father, to the realm of the heavenlies. Yet, those who heard Him thought He was talking about taking a trip into the surrounding Greek lands.

But why are things like that in the Bible? It’s a proof. If you were making up the Gospel or being biased with the truth, there’s no way you’d put things like this in the Bible. You’d only put it in if you were being extremely careful to record the raw and unadulterated truth.

Things like these are only in the Bible because they’re true. And so it is also in the Bible that Jesus has risen. That is equally true. So you can lift up your eyes off of your situation, onto the heavenlies. That’s where Jesus is, and not on some Greek vacation.

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of King David. This is the Good News I preach.  2 Timothy 2:8

Take the Word of God more seriously today than you have before. Take a Word. Totally receive it, affirm it, and act on it.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

An Open Heart

19 Aug

An Open Heart…

Good morning,

Let’s start this day with a heart open to the love God calls us to share.

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
Romans 13:8

Imagine waking up each morning with only one debt on your mind – the debt of love. Paul’s words in Romans 13:8 invite us to see love not as a fleeting emotion but as a beautiful, lifelong obligation.

In a world fixated on settling accounts, we’re called to a radical way of living: to be in constant, joyful arrears of love. This isn’t about grand gestures but daily deposits of kindness. A patient word to a frustrated spouse, a helping hand to a struggling neighbor, forgiveness offered to someone who’s hurt us – each act is a payment on this sacred debt.

Here’s the paradox: the more we pay, the richer we become. Every loving action enriches our relationships, deepens our character, and reflects God’s heart to a world in desperate need of it.

This debt knows no limits. It extends to family, friends, strangers, and even those who oppose us. In faithfully paying it, we fulfill the very essence of God’s law.

Today, embrace your identity as a love debtor. How can you make a payment right now? In doing so, you might just start a revolution of grace in your corner of the world.

Loving Father, thank you for the precious command to love others as You have loved me. As I begin this day, open my heart to see every interaction as a chance to reflect Your grace. Give me eyes to notice the needs around me and the compassion to respond with kindness. When I’m tempted to withhold love, remind me of the debt I owe—a debt paid in full by Your Son, Jesus. May my words and actions be an outpouring of Your love, bringing hope and healing to all I meet. Help me to love without reserve, knowing that in loving others, I am fulfilling Your greatest command. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person’s ultimate good as far as it can be obtained.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Blessings Guide

19 Aug

Blessings Guide…

Barucha is Hebrew for blessing. The Jewish people have many baruchas or blessings. In Jewish culture, there’s a blessing for everything. At a Bar Mitzvah, there’s a blessing over the boy, over his parents, over the bread, over the wine, over the washing of hands, and probably over the chopped liver at the reception.

If you’re born again, you’re a child of Abraham in spirit and now able to walk in the blessings of Israel. Learn the blessing of having a blessing for everything; a blessing of thanks, of praise, of appreciation, of joy in and for everything in your life. God promises to work all things out for good in your life for blessing.

So everything in your life, no matter how big or small, no matter how good or bad it looks or feels is, in the end, a blessing from God. Learn the blessing of giving thanks and blessing God for everything, no matter what, and you will live a blessed life. That’s a guarantee. Thank Him for everything in your life… even the chopped liver.

Do not return evil for evil, or insult for insult; but, on the contrary, a blessing, because to this you were called, that you might inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9

Today, speak a blessing over your day and everything in it. Come up with a blessing for every experience you have.

Walk daily with God at your side

Love always

The Gift of Prayer

18 Aug

The Gift of Prayer…

Good morning,

Today’s the day to dive deep into what faith in our prayers really means. Let’s unwrap this gift together.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24

In the tapestry of life, we often find ourselves facing challenges that seem insurmountable and dreams that feel out of reach. But Mark 11:24 offers us a thread of hope, a promise that has the power to revolutionize our prayer lives and reshape our realities.

Jesus’ words beckon us to approach prayer with an audacious faith, to believe that the very things we’re asking for are already ours in the spiritual realm. This isn’t a call to ignore reality or to treat God like a cosmic vending machine. It’s an invitation to align our hearts with the heart of God, to trust in His goodness and His ability to do the impossible.

When we pray with this kind of mountain-moving faith, we begin to see the landscape of our lives shift. Doors that once seemed sealed shut start to crack open. Dreams that lay dormant spring to life. Fears that held us captive lose their grip in the light of God’s promises.

Today, let us take hold of the thread of faith and weave it into every prayer we offer. Let us approach God with confidence that is rooted not in our own strength but in His unfailing love and boundless power. And let us watch in wonder as He takes our mustard seed of faith and grows it into a flourishing tree, bearing fruit that will last for eternity.

Heavenly Father, Life’s journey holds challenges that can overwhelm and dreams that seem distant. But today, I cling to the hope You offer in Mark 11:24. Inspired by Jesus, I pray with audacious faith, believing my prayers are already answered in Your spiritual realm. Help me align my heart fully with Yours, surrendering my will and trusting in Your goodness. Steady my faith when circumstances seem unchanged. Remind me that even a mustard seed of belief can move mountains. I place my fears, dreams, and struggles into Your capable hands, knowing that You work all things for my good and Your glory. Thank You for the gift of prayer and the joy of witnessing Your faithfulness unfold. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Asking Big

18 Aug

Asking Big…

There is a story told of a philosopher who came seeking financial aid from Alexander the Great. Alexander ordered his treasurer to give the man his request, which was the equivalent of ten thousand pounds.

The treasurer was shocked. But Alexander replied, “Let the money be paid instantly. I’m delighted with this philosopher’s way of thinking. He’s done me a great honor. By the largeness of his request, he shows the high idea he’s conceived of my wealth and my generosity.”

Jesus taught in Luke 12:33 that our heavenly Father delights to give us His kingdom, therefore ask accordingly. You’re not a child of a pauper; you’re a child of the King who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He’s rich in blessings and love for you.

You’re not flattering God by asking for less than His best. If you want to bless God, believe in His abundance of love. He wants to give it to you. Alexander may have been great in wealth and power, but your heavenly Father is rich in blessings, and you’re His child. That means you’re well off. But you must ask… and you must believe.

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.  James 4:3

Today, believe in His abundance of love and ask Him for His best, according to His will, even beyond what you think you should ask or deserve.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Path Of Life

17 Aug

The Path Of Life…

Good morning,

Today, let’s immerse ourselves in the warmth of Romans 8:28, a verse that reassures us of God’s unwavering support and the beautiful purpose He has for each of us.

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.  Romans 8:28

Life isn’t a well-marked path, but a winding road filled with surprises. Sometimes it climbs towards breathtaking vistas, other times it dips into valleys shrouded in fog. Through it all, Romans 8:28 stands as a steady promise: even when we don’t understand the route, God is working all things for our good.

This isn’t a promise of avoiding detours or roadblocks. It’s the assurance that in the twists and turns, God is still our navigator. Our anxieties, our victories, even our wrong turns, are not random events. They hold purpose, however obscured from our view.

Think of it like a skilled artist. They may start a piece with broad strokes, seemingly chaotic in their direction. But with each stroke, each layer, a profound image emerges. God works the same way with our lives. He takes those unexpected moments and adds color, texture, and depth. We might not see the final picture, but we can trust the Artist’s hand.

Today, let’s not get lost in the confusion of the journey. Let’s choose faith over fear, remembering that we are on a path led by divine purpose. Hold onto the promise of Romans 8:28, knowing that even the most bewildering twists in the road serve a beautiful, unseen plan.

Trust that you are loved, you are guided, and every step—even into the unknown—leads you closer towards the ultimate good that God desires for you.

Father, walking through life, sometimes it feels like I’m staring at a half-finished painting, wondering where it’s all going. But I’m holding onto Romans 8:28, trusting You’re behind the scenes, turning every moment into something good. In this mix of bright spots and tough patches, help me keep faith in Your big picture. When things get confusing, remind me that You’ve got a plan, a masterpiece in the making. Give me patience to wait for the reveal, knowing You’re working out something amazing. And let me share this hope, showing others that, with You, every twist and turn is leading somewhere beautiful. Thanks for being in charge of the brushstrokes, for making life more than just random splashes of color. Amen.

God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼

Ruach… Breath

17 Aug

Ruach… Breath

“Ruach” is Hebrew for breath. It’s the most basic thing you need for life, even more basic than food or water. From birth to death, every moment of your life must be filled with breath or else you die. Ruach also means Spirit.

So, the Holy Spirit can also be called the Holy Breath. In John 20:22, Jesus breathed on His disciples and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” In Hebrew, He said, “Receive the Holy Breath.” The Holy Spirit is the Holy Breath of God.

It’s His breath filling your life because you need Him every moment of your life. As much as your body needs air, your heart needs the Holy Spirit. Living by the Spirit is as basic as breathing.

You can’t have the joy of being alive without air. And you can’t be spiritually alive without the Spirit. So if you want to be alive, breathe. Get a breath of fresh Ruach. Live, walk, breathe, and rejoice in the Spirit.

Stop holding your breath and receive the Ruach. For the Holy Spirit is the Holy Breath. It’s as simple as breathing.

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”  Ezekiel 37:9

Today, learning what it means is that the Holy Spirit is the Holy Breath. Get a breath of fresh Ruach and walk in His Spirit.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼
