That You Might Know

That You Might Know…

The longest book in the world is the Bible. Other books have more words and pages, but the Bible is longer. Why? It was written over a period of about 1500 years.

There’s no other book like it. Imagine a book that’s begun at the fall of the Roman Empire, continued through the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, and finally finished by a modern day street vendor in the Bronx.

It’d be a miracle for such a book to be at all coherent or consistent. That’s exactly what the Bible is – it perfectly begins in Genesis and perfectly ends with the Book of Revelation. It bears the unmistakable mark of one author… God!

Your life may be filled with lots of things that don’t seem to be consistent, coherent, hold together, or make sense. But just as God wove together the Bible into something perfect and awesome, so He is able to weave together all the loose ends of your life.

Just put Him first and follow His plot, and your life will become something perfect and beautiful.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.ย  2 Timothy 3:16

Today, follow the leading of the Lord at every step. Let Him be the author of your day, and you the work of His hands.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Be The Light

Be The Light…

Good morning,

Today, let’s explore how we can be beacons of light in a sometimes dark world.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:21

Have you ever felt the weight of the world’s negativity pressing down on you? Whether it’s the constant stream of bad news, workplace drama, or family conflicts, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and powerless. In these moments, Paul offers us a transformative strategy: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

This isn’t just nice adviceโ€”it’s a powerful way to live. Imagine responding to every unkind word with a blessing, every injustice with fairness, every moment of despair with hope. These acts of goodness, no matter how small, can pierce through darkness like beams of light.

Think about a time when someone’s unexpected kindness brightened your day. You have that same power, flowing from Christ’s love within you. When faced with rudeness, respond with courtesy. When tempted to gossip, speak words of encouragement. When you see injustice, stand up for what’s right with love and respect.

These choices aren’t always easy, but they’re transformative. Each act of kindness pushes back against negativity, creating ripples of positive change. Today, be intentional about spreading goodness. Your simple act might just be the light someone desperately needs.

Dear Lord, in the face of anger and negativity, I confess that my first instinct isn’t always to respond with kindness. It’s easy to get caught up in the world’s way of doing things, to want to fight fire with fire. But I know that’s not Your way, Lord. Help me to remember Your words in Romans 12:21 – to not be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good. Give me the strength to choose kindness over cruelty, forgiveness over resentment, and love over hate. Fill my heart with Your peace and guide my actions, that I may be a light in the darkness and a beacon of Your goodness in this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Darkness can not drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate can not drive out hate; only love can do that.

The Monster and The Baby

8 Jul

The Monster and The Baby…

In the late 19th century, a customs service worker in the Austrian Empire fell in love and married his cousin, Klara, who gave birth to 3 children, all of whom died as infants. Her fourth child, a son, survived. He was her treasure. The baby’s name: Adolfus Hitler, or Adolf Hitler.

What I’ve described to you is the birth of perhaps the most diabolical man ever born. Was this the birth of a monster? No. April 20, 1889 was the birth of a baby, not a monster.

That baby would grow up to be a monster because he’d make choices in his life of pride, anger, bitterness, self-pity, blame, selfishness, spite, and hatred.

This very powerfully confirms the Word of God. Throughout your life, you’re given choices which could lead you to become a monster on one hand or a saint on the other; life versus death.

Over the long run, you become what you choose: a monster or a saint. So God says, “choose life,” because you will be not what you were and not what you are, but what you choose. Choose life.

This day, I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you, life and death, blessings, and curses. Now choose life so that you and your children may live.ย  Deuteronomy 30:19

In every decision you make today, choose the path of life.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Go Into The World and Preach

Go Into The World and Preach…

Good morning,

Welcome to a brand new day filled with God’s goodness and grace! As we start our day, let’s focus on a powerful call to action from Jesus Himself.

He said to them, โ€œGo into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Mark 16:15

Picture the disciples, huddled together in the aftermath of the crucifixion and resurrection. Into this scene, Jesus appears, not just to comfort, but to commission. “Go into all the world,” He declares.

This command, given generations ago, now falls to us. The Great Commission isn’t just for pastors or missionaries; it’s for every believer. It’s a call to step beyond our comfort zones and bring the Gospel to a world in need.

Sharing the Good News doesn’t require a perfect pedigree. It’s about having a storyโ€”your story of how Jesus changed your life. It’s about allowing His love to overflow into your words and actions.

You don’t need all the answers. You just need to point to the One who is the Answer. You don’t need to be flawless. You just need to be available, letting God use your ordinary life in extraordinary ways.

Today, wherever you are, remember: you carry the light of the world within you. Let it shine. Share a word of encouragement, an act of kindness, a testimony of God’s faithfulness. For you never know how God might use a simple seed of truth to change an eternal destiny.

Beloved Father, my heart overflows with gratitude for Your grace, a gift so generous and undeserved. I stand in awe of Your plan, that through the Gospel, I am woven into Your work of redemption. Yet Lord, sometimes when it comes to sharing Your love, my tongue falters, and fear whispers doubts. Let Your enduring grace wash over me anew. Quiet my anxious mind, and tune my ears to the promptings of Your Spirit. Open my eyes, dear God, to the hearts You’ve prepared. May every encounter today โ€“ every smile, every conversation โ€“ shimmer with hints of Your love. Help me to be a vessel of that same grace, drawing those around me closer to the warmth of Your embrace. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

The Gospel is not a secret to be hoarded but a story to be heralded.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Moses Is Dead

7 Jul

Moses Is Dead…

The first five books of the Bible are called the Torah. The Torah ends commending Moses, but the very next book opens with God saying, “Moses, My servant, is dead.” Without the Book of Joshua, the Bible couldn’t get on with salvation.

Because as great as Moses was, the Bible isn’t about Moses. It’s about God. God is I AM! He doesn’t stay in the past, He’s now. God had to tell Israel, in effect, Moses is dead now, get on with it. Too often God’s people dwell on the past, on how good or bad it was.

If you do that, you won’t be able to move on and inherit the blessings He’s got for your life. God is saying to you, “Moses is dead.” The glory of the past is no more. Its pain and sorrow are over. Stop dwelling on it, say goodbye, and move on because God is now.

Therefore, arise, cross the Jordan, and enter the land of milk and honey. Get on with your life, get on with the blessing, because Moses, my servant, is dead.

Jesus replied, โ€œNo one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.โ€ย  Luke 9:62

Today, make a conscious effort to live in the present and presence of God. Let go of the past and get on with the blessing.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always

Protection That Transcends

Protection That Transcends…

Good morning,

Today, let’s be encouraged by the truth that God is with us through every challenge and trial we face. His presence gives us strength and hope, no matter what comes our way.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Isaiah 43:2

In the journey of faith, we navigate through varied landscapesโ€”some lush and serene, others rugged and intense. Isaiah 43:2 brings us a divine promise of presence and protection that transcends all circumstances. It’s a reminder that no matter what we face, we are not alone; God is with us, guiding and guarding every step.

This verse is not merely about survival; it’s about triumph. It assures us that in God’s company, the waters that threaten to overwhelm us become passageways to new strength, and the fires we fear transform into refining experiences that leave us unscathed, shaped, and shining brighter.

Today, let this promise uplift your spirit. Whether you find yourself wading through challenging waters or walking amidst the flames of trial, remember, God’s presence is your constant. His strength is made perfect in our weakness, turning our trials into testimonies of His faithfulness.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your unfailing love and for the promise that You are with me through every storm in life. When I face trials and tribulations, I am grateful that I can call on Your name for strength, guidance, and protection. In the midst of these challenges, remind me to look to You as the source of all hope and encouragement. Help me to remember that You are always working for my good and that You are molding me into the person You want me to be. As I walk through the fire, keep my eyes focused on You, knowing that You will never leave me nor forsake me. May I always trust in Your plan and cling to Your promises, even when the way is difficult and the path uncertain. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

God is too good to be unkind, and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we can not trace His hand, we must trust His heart.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

What Makes A Ship Unsinkable

6 Jul

What Makes A Ship Unsinkable…

An American preacher visiting Belfast was scheduled to preach in the church which had lost 16 of its members on the unsinkable ship, the Titanic. It was a week after the tragedy.

The church was filled with lords, bishops and ministers of all denominations. The audience was filled with newly made widows and orphans sobbing all around. The sermon was called “The Unsinkable Ship”.

It wasn’t about the Titanic. It was about a much smaller, much frailer and much more humble ship that sailed the Sea of Galilee two thousand years before. It was unsinkable, not because of its construction, but because Jesus was in it. Jesus is the Lord of land and sea. He’s the master of storms, and He’s the calmer of raging waves.

In this life, we sail many vessels of career, success, popularity, health, youth, and money. Some of these vessels look strong, solid, rich, and glorious, but all these vessels ultimately sink.

A life that’s built instead on the presence of the Rabbi from Nazareth is the ship that will never sink. That life will make it through every storm. That’s the unsinkable ship.

Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?ย  Jeremiah 32:27

In any distress, trouble, fear, or anxiety today, comfort your soul with the knowledge that you’re not going to sink. Messiah is in your boat!

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Our Strength

5 Jul

Our Strength…

Good morning!

Today, let’s find strength in our identity as followers of Christ, even when it sets us apart.

If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
John 15:18

In a world that pressures us to conform, living out our faith can feel like swimming against the current. Perhaps you’ve experienced dismissive comments, questioning glances, or uncomfortable silences when your beliefs come up. It’s easy to feel disheartened, wondering if you’re on the wrong path.

But Jesus, in John 15:18, offers a different perspective. “If the world hates you,” He says, “keep in mind that it hated me first.” His words aren’t meant to discourage, but to reassure us. When we face opposition for our faith, it’s not a sign we’re doing something wrong, but often confirmation that we’re aligned with Christ.

Remember, Jesus Himself faced misunderstanding, rejection, and even hostility. When we feel out of sync with the world, we’re in good company โ€“ we’re walking the same path Jesus walked, a path that ultimately leads to eternal life.

So, the next time you feel the sting of rejection for your faith, remember: you’re not alone. Embrace the path less traveled, knowing that you walk hand in hand with the One who loves you most.

Respond with love when faced with misunderstanding!

Dear God, When I feel alone or out of place because of my faith, remind me that I’m not the first to walk this path. Jesus faced rejection, too. Help me to see these moments not as setback but as opportunities to share your love and truth with a world that needs it. Give me courage to stand strong, knowing that you’re always with me, even when it feels like I’m swimming against the current. Thank you for always loving me and for showing me the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

All that is not eternal is eternally out of date.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Pantheist Christian

5 Jul

The Pantheist Christian…

The basis of Eastern and New Age religion is that ultimately everything and anything is God – pantheism. When people in the Lord put “Thus sayeth the Lord”, “The Lord told me”, or “The Lord spoke to me” in front of everything they say, they run the risk of sliding unknowingly into that same pantheism.

When everything is the voice of God then there’s no voice of God. It’s very easy to say “God told me this” or “God promised me that”. It’s easy to attach God’s name to your desires, hopes, and dreams, and there’s nothing spiritual about it. In fact, it’s taking the name of the Lord in vain.

When you mistake your own voice for the voice of God, you’ll stop hearing the real voice of God. God is Holy. His Voice is Holy. We have to be still and listen to it. We have to be rooted and grounded in the sure Word of God as found in the Scriptures.

Be rooted, grounded, and strong in His Word. For thus sayeth the Lord, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.”

For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Psalm 95:7

Today, spend time being still before Him, listen for His voice, and receive His word.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

He First Loved Us

4 Jul

He First Loved Us…

Good morning!

Today, let’s explore the beautiful truth of God’s initiating love.

We love because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19

In a world that often feels conditional, here’s a truth that can transform our hearts: God’s love for us isn’t a response to our actions. It’s the very reason we can love at all.

Think about that for a moment. Before you took your first breath, before you did anything right or wrong, God loved you. His love isn’t earned; it’s freely given. It’s not a reaction to our goodness but the source of any good in us.

This verse reminds us that our capacity to love – whether it’s loving God, others, or even ourselves – stems from His initial love for us. It’s like a small flame lit from an eternal fire.

When we grasp this, it changes everything. Our love becomes less about striving and more about responding. We love not to gain approval, but because we’re already approved. We love not out of duty, but out of the overflow of being loved.

Today, let this truth sink in: You are loved, unconditionally, and eternally. And that love empowers you to love others in return.

Dear Lord, Thank you for loving me unconditionally long before I even knew what love was. Your love is a precious gift, and sometimes I forget to open it fully. Today, I want to receive Your love with open arms and let it change me from the inside out. Fill my heart with Your love so that it overflows into my words, my actions, and my every thought. Help me to love others like you love me โ€“ patiently, kindly, and always ready to forgive. Let your love shine through me and touch everyone I meet today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God’s love is not a response to your love; your love is a response to His.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
