Let It Roll

Let It Roll…

In Proverbs 16:17 it says, “The highway of the upright is to depart from evil, and he who watches his way preserves his life.” The highway of the upright, not the old country road departs from evil.

It says highway. What does that mean? That means fast! The highway of the upright is to depart from evil. To depart from evil; that’s a highway. It’s a fast track to God’s will, God’s joy, and God’s peace.

But the key is also when you depart from evil, do it as if you’re on a highway. When you depart from that temptation, don’t do it slowly, don’t play around with it, don’t entertain it, don’t have a long drawn-out talk with it; run from it.

Do like Joseph did. Run and get away from it immediately! As soon as that thing comes up, that questionable thing, situation or indulgence, get out of it, run out of there!

As soon as it starts, get on the highway and floor the peddle! You don’t want to leave sin slowly as if on an old dirt road; you leave it in a hurry on the highway of the upright.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Proverbs 3:7-8

Ask God to reveal any sin in your life, and flee from it fast – get on God’s fast track.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed
