Going Dayglow

Going Dayglow…

Back in the sixties, there was a “dayglow” fad. Dayglow referred to paints or materials that glowed in the dark. There were dayglow buttons, decals, posters, everything. And there were black lights, which also glowed in the dark.

You were cool only if your bedroom looked like the result of a radioactive meltdown. This craze eventually died down, but there was something Biblical about it.

If you belong to God you should be a dayglow person, or rather, a glow-in-the-dark person. It’s written, ‘… in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world…’

You are to appear as a light in the world. It’s not the good or easy times which best reveal who you are.. but the hard times, when the going gets tough, how you deal with problems, and when all hell comes against you. Anyone can have daylight love… But you’re called to have dayglow love.

God wants you to show the world a glow-in-the-dark love, joy, peace, hope, praise, and a glow-in-the-dark victory. Next time you find yourself in the dark… start glowing. It’s the only cool thing to do!

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14

Today, be that “dayglow love,” that witness of Messiah, that light that shines in the darkness. There may be someone in your path that needs to see and sees what they need that’s in you.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,
