Water From Your Own Cistern…

One of the most famous images in American Cinema is of a farm girl from Kansas singing, “Somewhere over the Rainbow”. There’s something about that scene from the Wizard of Oz that connects with being human.

It’s the ‘somewhere’ attitude or ‘over the rainbow’ principle. Most people go through life like Dorothy, yearning for something else so that finally they’ll be happy. It’s not healthy.

To long for Heaven is healthy. We must keep in mind that the kingdom of heaven is also within us. When we long for that somewhere over the rainbow, we have to remember that somewhere is right here.

God has chosen this side of the rainbow for you to live a life of abundance and victory. It doesn’t matter which side of the rainbow you’re on, you’re with God and God is with you.

Now is the time of salvation and here is the place of its victory. God’s word says, “Drink waters from your own cisterns.”

Stop dreaming of the other side of the rainbow and start having victory on this side. Abundant life can only be lived here and now… on your very own side of the rainbow.

Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well. Proverbs 5:15

The grass always seems greener on the other side. Today, dwell on all the blessings that are on your side of the fence and give thanks to God.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed
