The Sunrise Seeking

The Sunrise Seeking…

There are people who like to get up to see the sunrise. I once tried it, but I was too tired to enjoy it.

My usual goal is to go to bed as late as I could, like most kids. After that one attempt, I determined then that if I’m ever going to get up to see a sunrise, it can’t be before noon. Then Grandfather took over my life and I became an early to bed early to rise person.

In Proverbs 11:27, it speaks of those who diligently seek good. The word for diligently seeking good, in the original Hebrew is…”Shakhar.” “Shakhar” means, the sunrise, the dawn.

What does that have to do with seeking good? When you read about “diligently seeking God” often the word in Hebrew is Shakhar, sunrise.

Why? You are to seek God as someone who gets up early to seek the sunrise. The blessings of God are not for those who seek Him and His righteousness, but for those who diligently and zealously seek Him.

If you want to be blessed, learn to “shakhar,” to diligently seek Him and His things as your first joy, and the glory of His countenance will rise upon you.

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Make it your aim to diligently seek God today – as diligently as waking up for a sunrise.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed
