Signs Of The Blessing

20 Nov

Signs Of The Blessing…

When I was a little boy, my Grandfather began bringing me strange gifts. First it was a dog leash. Then it was a six pack of dog food. It went on like that for some time until one day, when I was six, I came home and there waiting for me, was a little puppy. All those gifts were given to me as an encouragement, a foretaste of things to come, to keep me excited.

Now there’s no comparison between those gifts and the gift given to the first believers, except this – 2 Corinthians 1:22 tells us that the Holy Spirit is given to us as a pledge, a down payment, a guarantee, and an assurance. God gave us His Spirit as a foretaste of what lies ahead of every believer – the life of Heaven. It’s to keep you assured and excited.

So live in the Spirit, walk in the Spirit, and move in the Spirit then all the more you’ll never lose your excitement, your hope, or your joy in the Lord. For by the Spirit, you can live a heavenly life, even now.

For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. Ephesians 5:9

Walk in the presence, the joy, and power of the Spirit. And live in expectation – it’s a taste of what’s coming – Heaven!

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Miracle Of Change

19 Nov

The Miracle Of Change…

What does Scripture mean when it says that Jesus multiplied bread? In order to have bread, you need bakers. For the bakers to bake, they need to have flour. To have flour, there must be first those who grind the grain. In order to have grain, you must have the harvesters. And for the harvesters to reap, there must have first been sowers. Every loaf of bread has a history behind it.

So what does it mean that the Lord could make bread come into existence that had not existed? It means He has the power to change the past and create a new one. Every loaf of bread was there as if from a newly created past.

So the Lord not only creates the present, but the future, and the past. Through the blood of Jesus, even your past can be redeemed. It doesn’t matter what kind of past you had or have, whether a fallen past of many years or a messed up past of days. Bring it to Him just as the disciples brought Him bread. Let Him change your past. It’s as simple as multiplying bread.

I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me,
for I have redeemed you. Isaiah 44:22

Live as one who has been given a new past, a past of blessing, spotlessness, purity, and godliness. Let a changed past change your present and your future.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Bait And Switch

18 Nov

Bait And Switch…

There’s a deceptive sales practice called Bait and Switch. It consists of this: the seller offers a great bargain or savings. Then, when the customers come in, they try to sell them something more expensive.

Satan uses the same tactics. He will always seek to have you switch your love of God for something else. Satan will try to draw you off track and will do it by attempting to shift your focus and your affections. It happens with many believers.

They start out with zeal and passion for the Lord, but then their heart becomes misdirected. They end up doing things out of other motives: for the love of status, the love of approval, the love of a person, the love of money or comfort, or even for the love of religion and ministry; for the house of the Lord instead of the Lord of the house.

Has that happened to you? Come back to your First Love. Guard your heart and your affections. Seek to grow even more in love with God than before. God is the real deal – don’t be fooled by imitations.
Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. Matthew 6:1

Take inventory. Have you in any way been moved from your first love? Turn away. And come back to the joy of your first love.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love alway,

How many times have we said I could do this or that if… ? Life is a struggle at times and other times it seems to flow like a river.

If I could hold your heart, I would place it safe and secure in my heart. This is the ultimate declaration of love. If you heard this what would you say?

Actually we hear it almost everyday because it is what God is telling us. He is open to protect and comfort you if you will accept His call. Are you sharing that same message openly with others?

Your light and the way you live your life is a great witness to your Christian values. If we, as believers and Christians, only act like Christian believers on Sunday in church and Sunday School what does that tell nonbelievers about us and better yet about God?

I’ve listened to people sarcastically brush off and joke about it not realizing the people they are talking to just may be looking for a path to Jesus and don’t know how to ask. What if your sarcasm turned that person away?
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29

As Christians we should set an example of Jesus in our everyday lives. It should be our goal, as we grow in our faith, to become more like Jesus. Our lights should light the path for all to see His glory in us. Be the Bible for all to see.

If I could hold your heart, I would place it safe and secure in my heart…

The Glory In The Dungeon

15 Nov

The Glory In The Dungeon…

If you went to the castle of Herod Antipas at the beginning of the fourth decade of the first century, you would find the king living in luxury while a man in nothing but a garment of camel’s hair languished down below in the dungeon.

It would seem clear who the successful one in life was and who the failure was. The man in the dungeon was, of course, Yochanan, John the Baptist. His life would soon be over. And yet 2000 years later, no one thinks of the name “Herod” as something good.

Yet this particular Herod is remembered for being a corrupt, compromised, immoral, evil man. But Yochanan would become among the most honored and revered people who ever lived. He would bring Jesus and salvation to Israel and to millions of lives.

So don’t ever judge your life, or whether you’re a winner or a loser, by the way it looks, or by your circumstance. Only follow the will of God, and do whatever you have to do to fulfill His call on your life. And no matter what – you will be a winner.

A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of birth. Ecclesiastes 7:1

Today, look at your life, not by the standards of the world, but by the will and calling of God – And live accordingly.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Redeemer — Goel

14 Nov

The Redeemer — Goel…

The Hebrew Scriptures reveal the laws of the Goel. If a woman’s husband died leaving her no children, his brother or nearest male relative could redeem her life by marrying her and by giving her children. He would be called the “Goel.”

Throughout the Bible, God is called “the Redeemer” or “your Redeemer.” But the word translated as “Redeemer” in our English Bibles is actually the Hebrew word “Goel.” The Lord is not only the one who redeems you – He is your Goel. And what is the Goel?

The Goel is the one who has compassion on the sorrowful, the barren, the lost, and the one who thinks that their life is over. The Goel loves that one and marries himself to that one. The Goel takes away the shame and the reproach of that life and makes that barren life fruitful, restored, and blessed.

As it is for Israel, so too is it for you. God is your Goel who loves you, who marries Himself to you. He removes your shame and makes your life fruitful. Be blessed today. For the Lord is not only your Redeemer – He’s your Goel!

For your Maker is your husband—
the Lord Almighty is his name—
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. Isaiah 54:5

Embrace your Goel, give Him your shame and reproach, and let Him make you fruitful.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Nature Of Sin

13 Nov

The Nature Of Sin…

Here is an old folktale: There was a scorpion that wanted to cross a river but was unable to swim. The scorpion saw a frog and said to him, “Carry me across the river.” “No,” said the frog, “You’re a scorpion, and you’ll sting me.” “But that would be foolish,” replied the scorpion, “If I were to sting you, we’d both drown. So why would I do that?”

So the frog agreed and began carrying the scorpion on his back across the river. Halfway across, the scorpion stung the frog. “Why did you do that?” exclaimed the frog, “Now we’ll both drown!” “I couldn’t help it,” replied the scorpion, “It’s my nature.”

The scorpion is a fitting symbol for sin. You can’t negotiate with sin, reason with it, or change it. Its nature is to destroy. So you can’t allow it even the smallest amount of room.

So how do you deal with sin and the old nature? Only one way – You crucify it. Don’t be as foolish as the frog. For as it is written, that sin “wars against your soul.” Why? That’s just its nature.

And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. 2 Peter 1:4

Today, do not attempt to negotiate with any sin or old nature. Instead just crucify it in Messiah.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,
