Everybody Deserves Kindness

5 Jan

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Today, for some reason, people find it so much easier to lash out at someone over the littlest thing. This in turn causes them to become very defensive and in some cases to lash back. Then the battle begins.

How much easier it is to turn things around with a soft answer, a gentle touch of compassion. When you defuse a situation with a soft response it also opens the door for greater understanding. Life really is about understanding and learning. Staying positive is the easiest way for this to happen.

I realize there are some out in the world who love to stir up things and keep everyone on a stormy path. They just love to argue and live for the calamity of the fight. I’m sure you have run into a few of them yourself over the years. They want to pull you into an argument and cause you lose your control. While you think about this, let me remind you it is your choice to turn it around or to join in the fight no one makes the decision for you.

I have learned over my lifetime that life is what you choose it to be, even in the worst of situations when you think your world can get no lower. Choosing the positive path and making the best of it will lift your spirit and turn things around. The same goes when you run up against someone who wants nothing more than to argue. Turn it around with a soft response and a gentle smile. You will be surprised how that will help turn a life around.

As a Christian, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves and to be the example that opens the door for them.

That being said, it only stands to reason that everybody deserves kindness, everybody deserves love!

Light up someone’s world today with a smile and a gentle word of kindness!

Walk daily with God at your side.

Love,

Ed
