The Way

The Way…

One of the earliest names for our faith in Jesus, as recorded in the Book of Acts, is “The Way.” This name carries profound ramifications. The lives of most people, and even most believers, tend to be determined by their circumstances. But think about what the word “Way,” means. A way is not a place or a circumstance, but a path that cuts through places and circumstances.

Therefore, your faith is not about your situations. Your faith is about ‘The Way.” When you’re a person identified by “The Way,” you’re no longer a person identified by your circumstances – nor are you bound by your problems. If you’re a person of “The Way,” it is no longer about what’s around you – it’s about where you’re going.

Psalm 23 speaks of mountains and the valleys as the scenery of life but not the point. It’s not about them. It’s about you walking, progressing, and pressing through to the way of life. So don’t look to the right or left – but press on. For your faith is not called “The Situation” – it’s called “The Way.”
Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. Proverbs 10:17

Live in the power of The Way. Press through every situation and circumstance on your way with Jesus.

The Honeycomb Secret

The Honeycomb Secret…

There have been times when I’m away from my home that I feel like I’m starving. I see junk food and I buy it. Then I’m driving and eating, and I’ll end up eating the entire bag. Now I would nornmally never plan to do such a thing. So why did it happen? It happened because I let myself get too hungry. When you’re hungry, you’ll eat what you otherwise wouldn’t eat – and way too much of it.

This isn’t just true with food, but also in the spiritual realm. If you let yourself get spiritually empty, you’re putting yourself in danger – You can become vulnerable to falling to temptations you would otherwise never fall into.

Therefore, fill yourself up with what is good; with the Lord, His joy, and His blessings. Make it a point to rejoice and delight in these things every day, and you’ll end up with blessings, no regrets, and no spiritual indigestion.

And to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:19

Today, fill up your spiritual hunger. Make it your aim to delight yourself in the good things of God. Fill up with His love and joy.

Being A Christian

Being A Christian…

Let me tell you the secret of being a Christian. When you warm other people’s hearts, you remain warm yourself. When you seek to support, encourage and inspire others; then you discover support, encouragement and inspiration in your own life as well.

This is what is missing in the world today. Where is the compassion we used to have? Where is the love we are commanded to share? Where are our Christian values when we can allow hate and distrust run our lives? Where are you?

One has to wonder what our churches are teaching and what our “Christians” are following. I’ll tell you it sure isn’t the Bible or the teachings of Jesus. I think everyone needs to pick up their bibles and read the Sermon On The Mount and just look at where they are in life using that as a reference. For you who don’t remember where to go it is Matthew chapter 5, 6 and 7. Then turn to 1Corinthians 13 and learn how to love again.

If we as Christian don’t start standing up to all this division going on in our country, we are not doing what Jesus commanded us to do. As long as we let hate, lies, and dark run unchecked we are turning our Country and Faith over to Satan.

It is time for us all to open our eyes and stand up and take a stand for our Lord and our Country!! Believe it or not if you are not part of the solution – you are part of the problem. Shine your light!!!

The Resurrection Of Zion

The Resurection Of Zion…

Eliezer Ben Yehudah had a vision for the future state of Israel. He believed he was called to resurrect Hebrew to be the Jewish nation’s new language. He spent the rest of his life writing a dictionary of a language that no one spoke.

He made it a law in his house that no other language would be spoken except his newly revived Hebrew. He even reprimanded his wife for singing a Russian lullaby to their little boy. His son became the first speaker of the new tongue.

People thought he was crazy. But his dream came true and Hebrew was resurrected from the dead and became the language of the resurrected nation of Israel.

You, too, are called to speak and walk into that which is not, as if it were: to speak and live words of impossibilities and declare that which has no precedent – to speak light into darkness, joy into sorrow, hope into hopelessness, and miracles into the impossible.

For Modern Hebrew was born out of a miracle of a man who refused to be reasonable but instead spoke a language of the impossible – do likewise!

So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.” John 8:28

Take the Word of God and speak and live that which is not as if it is – And live a life of miracles.

The Never Ending Banquet…

Once oil tycoon J. Paul Getty was asked, “If you retired now, would you say your holdings would be worth a billion dollars?” Getty paused to do the math in his head. “I suppose so,” he said, “but remember, a billion doesn’t go as far as it used to.” What Getty was saying was that even having a billion dollars was not quite enough.

So many people spend their lives seeking more money and worldly things, thinking that more will bring them happiness. But it’s never about what you have on the outside – it’s about your heart. If your heart is empty, no amount of riches on the outside will fill it.

However, if your heart is full of the things of God, no lack of money or anything on the outside will change that. Proverbs 15 says, that the one who has a joyous heart, has a never-ending banquet.

Do you want to be truly rich? Then set your heart on becoming rich in God. Give thanks to the Lord at all times for all the blessings and your life will become as a never-ending banquet.
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-20

Set your mind and heart on storing up true riches in God and rejoice in all your blessings.

Learn From Your Mistakes

Learn From Your Mistakes…

Proverbs 24:16 says, “A righteous man falls seven times, and rises again.” An example of this is Simon Peter. Peter was a righteous man who fell many times. But you don’t read about him continuing to make the same mistake again and again.

For as a righteous man, he got up. And he didn’t waste his falls, but he made the most of them and learned from them. Peter grew, and by the end of his life, he was truly a great man of God.

So, too, with you. The question isn’t whether or not you’ll make mistakes, or if you’ll mess up. The question is, what will you do with your mistakes and messes once you make them? First, you need to rise up from them. Second, don’t just let them be a bad memory.

Turn them into something good by learning from them, grow stronger, purer, and more in the center of God’s will for your life. For mistakes are some of the greatest teachers you will ever have. Thus, the wise man doesn’t just recover from his mistakes – he makes the most of them.
As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly. Proverbs 26:11

Take your mistakes and weaknesses and turn them around for good, turn sin into repentance, bitterness into forgiveness, and sorrow into joy.

Treasures In Heaven

Treasures In Heaven…

When the volcano of Pompeii erupted, one of the city’s inhabitants, a rich and beautiful woman ran down to the harbor to escape by ship. It was a wise decision. However, before running down, she decided to stay behind just long enough to collect as much of her jewelry as she could carry. Then she ran into the street with her diamonds, pearls, rubies, sapphires, gold brooches, and earrings.

But the delay in getting all that jewelry placed her in danger. The poisonous fumes of the eruption overcame her as she ran. She fell down in the street. There she was found, ages later, entombed under the volcanic ash of Pompeii, her hands still clutching her jewelry.

This life is a spiritual Pompeii. It’s ultimately ending. And we’re all leaving it. And the more you try to take from it, the more you lose even of your own life. Let go of what you’re clinging to. Travel light. For it’s all Pompeii. But God has called us out – and to life.

What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Matthew 16:26

Let go of anything you are holding onto that is hindering your spiritual walk.

Live In The Spirit

Live In The Spirit…

You never see things as they are – only as they were. In order to see anything in this world, the light from the object you’re perceiving has to reach your eye. Then the light has to be translated into electric impulses, which then have to travel to your brain. Then your brain has to distinguish what it is, and all that takes time.

So the truth is, you never see anything as it is – only as it was. But truth can never be something simply that was. It must be true now. So then how can you truly see the truth? By not going by your eyes, by sight, but by living through faith and in the Spirit.

Those who are led by the Spirit walk in the newness of life. It’s never old. It’s never simply what was – but what is. It’s new. So never limit yourself by going on what you see or feel. That’s all old – and it’s no longer true. Go by faith. Live by the Spirit. And you’ll walk in the newness of life and in the Truth.

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4

Let go of the past and that which is old and live by faith in the newness of what is.

The Tent Of Meeting

The Tent Of Meeting

The Lord gave Israel something unique. He had them build a tent in which His glory would dwell – the Tabernacle. How did the Israelites build it? They built it with their treasures. They had to give their gold, their precious jewelry, and their fine clothes. They had to give their best.

God has also chosen to have His presence and glory dwell with you. But for that to happen, you, as with the Israelites, have to give Him your best. In other words, your prayer life, and your devotional life. Your time and communion with God only become as good as what you give to make it. If you give Him little time or only the leftover time in your day, then you’ll never know the blessing of His glory.

If you build Him a cheap tent – He will not come. So don’t miss the blessing of His presence or His glory. Give Him your treasures. Give Him the best part of your day. Put your meeting with Him above everything else – and you will be blessed. And the glory will inhabit your prayer life – And He will come.
For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. Psalm 27:5

Today, build God a tabernacle, a tent of meeting, for you and Him – Give Him the best part of your time, and do it with all your heart.

New Day – New Start

New day – New start…

One of the ways the children of Israel were unique was their calendar. God gave them a new calendar. He told them in Exodus 12 that the month of Aviv or Nisan would now be the beginning of months for them. That means that it wasn’t the beginning of months for them before that time. Thus, God had them start a new calendar, with a new beginning, a new year; a calendar different from the old one.

If you are born again, then you are a spiritual child of Israel. That means you too, must learn to go by a new calendar in the Spirit. Every child of God must live by a new calendar. The old calendar begins with your old birth – the new, with your new birth. In the old calendar, every day you get older. But in the new calendar, you have the power to grow newer every day.

In the new calendar, there’s no past of shame, guilt, failure, or darkness – it’s new every day. Live in the new. Start each day fresh, newly begun, as if everything is new – because it is – in the new calendar.

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

See this day as an entirely new beginning. Start living by your new calendar and grow new in the spirit.
