Israel’s Prophetic Tree and Salvation…
The passage in Leviticus 19:23, often referred to as “The Law of Trees,” presents a compelling symbolic parallel to the nation of Israel. The Hebrew text describes the fruit of a newly planted tree as “uncircumcised and untouched” for three years. In the fourth year, the fruit becomes “Kodesh” – holy to the Lord – as firstfruits.
By the fifth year, all its fruit is to be partaken of. This agricultural law, in its intricate detail, offers a profound prophetic lens through which to view the history and destiny of Israel.
Considering Israel as a tree, the “unripe” or “uncircumcised” period of three years could symbolically represent a period of initial development or preparation. The fourth year, when the fruit is deemed holy and offered as firstfruits, suggests a turning point – a time of recognition and dedication to the divine.
This ancient law takes on even greater significance when juxtaposed with Israel’s millennia-long existence. As we approach the end of the fourth millennium of Jewish history, a remarkable spiritual awakening is unfolding. An increasing number of Jewish people are recognizing and embracing their Messiah, Yeshua, becoming the “first fruits of a holy harvest.”
This resonates powerfully with the concept of the fourth year’s fruit being consecrated to the Lord.
Could the “fifth” millennium of Jewish existence then signify the time when, akin to the fifth year of the tree when all its fruits are partaken of, “all Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:26)?
This prophetic interpretation suggests a future era of complete spiritual restoration and flourishing for the Jewish people, a time when the “fullness of the Gentiles” has come in, and God’s covenant with Israel is fully realized.
As the prophet Ezekiel declared: “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.'” (Ezekiel 37:12).
This powerful promise of national resurrection and return to the land underscores God’s unwavering faithfulness to His chosen people and the ultimate spiritual revival awaiting them.
Oh, Sovereign Lord, we intercede for the nation of Israel, Your ancient covenant people. We pray for the spiritual awakening to accelerate, that more and more of Your Jewish sons and daughters would recognize their Messiah, Yeshua, as the “first fruits” of a glorious harvest. We ask that as we stand on the cusp of the fifth millennium of Jewish existence, Your prophetic word would unfold in its fullness, and the “Olive Tree” of Israel would blossom in unprecedented glory, bearing fruit that is holy and pleasing to You. May the day come swiftly when “all Israel will be saved,” and Your Name be glorified among all nations through them. Amen.
For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? – Romans 11:15
