Three Key Words

Three Key Words…

When you first learned to speak, you learned three key words: Please and thank you. We often forget what the simplest first lessen that we learned as children means in our hearts to God.

When we ask God for something, the attitude must be please, not demanding that we have to have something or complaining that we didn’t get something. But God, if you please, if it’s Your will, then I praise You.

Then there is thank you. When you receive something from God, you don’t just walk away and take it for granted, or say, “I had the faith, so God had to do it.”

Thank God for everything every day! Everything you have in your life is a gift, not an entitlement. The more you thank Him, the more gifts and blessings you’ll see in your life.

Remember that one of the first lessons of life and in the Lord is one of the most important spiritual lessons for joy and blessing.

Put it into practice. “I’m not demanding it, I’m just asking you.” Put it into effect today, won’t you please… and thank you.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.Β  James 4:10

Today, approach the Lord with a heart of humility and thanksgiving. Take no good thing for granted, and give thanks for everything.

Dear Heavenly Father, Help us to cultivate a heart of humility and gratitude as we approach You. May we remember to say “please” with a humble attitude and “thank you” with sincerity and appreciation. May we never take Your blessings for granted, but instead, may we acknowledge Your goodness and provision in our lives. We thank You for the lessons we learned as children and for the reminder that these simple words can bring joy and blessing to our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity… It turns problems into gifts, failures into successes, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,
