Jesus – Name Above All Names…
Good morning! Today, let’s discover the profound meaning in the name above all names, Jesus.
She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus because He will save His people from their sins.
Matthew 1:21
Have you ever paused to let these words really sink in: ‘He will save His people from their sins’? We’ve heard them so often they can feel familiar, routine. But tucked within this simple phrase beats the heart of our entire faith—the reason for the star, the shepherds, the angels, the whole beautiful story of redemption.
Jesus didn’t come just to wipe our slate clean. He came to restore what sin had broken—our relationship with God. That distance we could never cross? His very name, ‘Jesus,’ meaning ‘God saves,’ tells us why He came. Before Bethlehem, before His earthly life began, His name already held His purpose.
What touches my heart most is that He came knowing everything—every struggle, every failure, every time we’d turn away. And still, He chose to come. Still, He chose us. Still, He chose you.
Today, let this truth fill your heart with wonder: Jesus came to save you. Not because you earned it, but because He loves you more than you can imagine. You are His. Chosen. Loved. And that changes everything.
Dear Father, my heart feels so full when I think about why You sent Jesus. Not because we deserved saving, but because Your love for us runs so deep. What amazing grace—that You knew every broken piece of me, every struggle I’d face, and still chose to make me Your own. Help me walk through today remembering who I am to You. When I forget my worth, whisper again the truth that’s held in Jesus’ name: I am saved, I am loved, I am Yours. Thank you for loving me this completely, for making me Your child, for giving me hope that changes everything. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Jesus came to pay a debt He didn’t owe because we owed a debt we couldn’t pay.
Walk daily with God at your side!
Love always,
Ed 🙏🏼
