The Real You

The Real You…

In one Beetle Bailey comic strip, Beetle was asked if he’d like to have been Abraham Lincoln. He answers, “Sarge, I’m having a hard enough time just being me.”  I’m sure we all wondered during our lives what it would be like to be someone else.

When you die, you will not be asked why you weren’t Paul or some other great Christian leader. God made you precious and unique. Nobody else can fulfill your calling, nor can you fulfill the calling of anybody else.

So when you try to be somebody else instead of yourself, you become a second-rate imitation. When you try to fulfill somebody else’s calling instead of your own, you actually sin against God because He didn’t make you to be somebody else.

The holiest thing you can do is be the best, godliest, on fire for the Lord you that you can be. And you can be, for it is written I can do all things through Jesus who strengthens me.

So forget about what everybody else is doing, and focus on being faithful to God’s calling for your life. Be yourself in His grace and your life instead of ending up a second-rate imitation. Be a first-rate original.

But as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all your conduct.  1 Peter 1:15

There is not one blade of grass, there is no color in this world that is not intended to make us rejoice. Today, forget about what everybody else is doing or saying or thinking, and focus instead on just being faithful to God’s calling for your life.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed 🙏🏼
