The Power of Truth…
Good morning. Today, let’s reflect on the power of truthful words and the lasting legacy they create. May we find the courage to speak the truth, even when it’s difficult.
Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.
Proverbs 12:19
Have you ever noticed how a small lie can start to feel like a trap? One small deception leads to another until we’re caught in a web of our own making. Proverbs 12:19 speaks to this heart struggle: while lies fade like morning mist, truth stands forever.
The enemy whispers that bending the truth will make life easier—protecting our reputation, avoiding conflict, sparing someone’s feelings. But each time we choose deception, something precious slips away. Our fellowship with God dims, trust in our relationships, cracks, and the peace we thought we were protecting drifts further from reach.
Truth, though not always easy to speak, offers us something beautiful and lasting. When we choose honest words, we step into the freedom Christ died to give us. We reflect God’s unchanging character, and our relationships grow stronger, built not on shifting sand but on the bedrock of trust.
Today, let’s choose truth not because it’s easy, but because it’s eternal. For when our words echo God’s heart, they create a legacy that glorifies Him long after we speak them.
Where in your life are you tempted to shade the truth for an easier path?
How might choosing complete honesty today strengthen your relationships with God and others?
Loving Father, in a world where truth often seems negotiable, anchor my heart in Your unchanging Word. When speaking honestly feels costly or uncomfortable, fill me with Your wisdom and courage. Help me trust that Your way of truth, though sometimes harder, always leads to freedom. Shape my words with Your grace, that they might build up rather than tear down. Thank You for showing me, through Jesus, that the truth wrapped in love can heal and restore. May my words today be like echoes of Your heart, bringing light to the darkness around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Truth without love is brutality, and love without truth is hypocrisy.
Walk daily with God at your side!
Love always,
Ed 🙏🏼
