Choose Joy…

Good morning!  Today, let’s embrace the profound truth found in Philippians 4:4 and discover the unshakable joy that comes from dwelling in the presence of our Lord.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Philippians 4:4

Joy is a choice. It’s a daily decision to fix our eyes on the goodness of God, even when our circumstances tempt us to focus on the trials. This is the heart of Paul’s invitation in Philippians 4:4 – to rejoice always, not just when life is smooth sailing, but in every season, in every situation.

This joy isn’t a superficial happiness that ignores pain or struggle. It’s a deep-rooted assurance that springs from our relationship with an unchanging God. It’s a conscious choice to trust in His faithfulness, even when the path ahead is unclear.

Paul wrote these words from a prison cell, demonstrating that true joy isn’t dependent on external conditions. Instead, it’s anchored in the eternal truth of God’s love and sovereignty.

So today, even if you’re facing challenges or uncertainties, choose joy. Choose to rejoice in the Lord, not because your circumstances are perfect, but because He is. As you do, you’ll discover a wellspring of strength and peace that will carry you through any storm.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the joy that is found in Your presence, a joy that transcends my circumstances. Help me to choose this joy daily, anchoring my heart in Your unchanging love and goodness. In times of trial, remind me that true joy comes from You. Strengthen me to rejoice always, not as a response to my surroundings, but as an outpouring of my faith in You. May my life be a testament to the unshakable joy found in relationship with You. Let this joy be my strength, a light to others, and a reflection of Your constant grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
