Press On…
Good morning,
Today, let’s embrace the beautiful journey of growing in faith.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
Philippians 3:12
Isn’t it comforting to know that even the great apostle Paul didn’t feel he had “arrived” in his faith journey? In this verse, he reminds us that following Christ is a lifelong adventure of growth and discovery.
Think of it like learning to play an instrument or mastering a sport. We don’t expect perfection from day one, do we? Instead, we celebrate each small improvement, each new skill learned. Our walk with God is similar – it’s about progress, not perfection.
Paul’s words encourage us to “press on.” This isn’t a burdensome command, but an invitation to keep exploring the depths of God’s love. Every day offers a fresh opportunity to know Christ more, to let His love shape us.
Remember, we’re not alone in this journey. Christ has already taken hold of us. We’re simply responding to His incredible love, reaching back to the One who first reached out to us.
So today, whatever challenges you face, whatever doubts you may have, take heart. You’re exactly where you need to be – in the grip of God’s grace, growing day by day. Keep pressing on, dear friend. The best is yet to come!
Loving Father, thank You for Your patience as I grow. I’m grateful that You see me not as I am, but as I’m becoming in You. Help me to press on with joy, even when I feel I’m falling short. Remind me that You’ve already taken hold of me and that my journey is a response to Your amazing love. Give me the courage to keep moving forward, celebrating every step of progress. May I grow closer to You each day, embracing the purpose for which You’ve called me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God loves you just the way you are, but He refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be just like Jesus.
Walk daily with God at your side!
Love always,
Ed 🙏🏼
