Seek His Kingdom…
Today, let’s embrace the promise of Matthew 6:33, finding peace and purpose as we seek God’s kingdom above all else.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
In a world that constantly bombards us with messages of “more” – more wealth, more success, more possessions – Jesus’ words offer a radical counter-cultural invitation: Seek first His Kingdom.
This isn’t about denying our earthly needs; it’s about understanding their true source. When we chase after worldly treasures, we find ourselves on a treadmill of insatiable desire. But when we seek God’s Kingdom, we tap into a wellspring of fulfillment that transcends the temporary.
Imagine your life as a canvas. What masterpiece do you want to create? When we prioritize God’s righteousness, we paint strokes of compassion, generosity, forgiveness, and love. Our lives become a vibrant tapestry that reflects the beauty of His character.
Seeking first His Kingdom is not a passive pursuit. It’s an active surrender of our ambitions and anxieties into His loving hands. It’s a daily choice to trust that He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows will also provide for us (Matthew 6:28-30).
As we realign our hearts with His priorities, we experience a profound shift. Our worries fade, our purpose ignites, and our lives become a testament to the transformative power of seeking His Kingdom above all else.
How can you prioritize seeking God’s kingdom in my daily life?
What worries or needs do you need to surrender to God today, trusting in His provision?
I encourage you to read Matthew chapters 5,6,and 7 for they give you a good basis on how you are to live your life.
Heavenly Father, life pulls me in so many directions, but today, I want to seek Your Kingdom first. Help me to remember that true fulfillment comes from You, not from worldly success or possessions. Teach me to trust in Your care, just as You provide for the lilies and sparrows. Guide me to live out Your love and righteousness, filling my days with compassion, generosity, and grace. Thank You for always being with me and providing for my needs. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives. Our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demands on our time, the interests we pursue, and the order of our priorities.
Walk daily with God at your side!
Love always,
Ed 🙏🏼
