Ban The Goat…
I knew a lady who used to keep a store of food for squirrels by her window. The squirrels always showed up. As a child, I would sneak food under the table to my dog, and my dog was always there waiting.
Goats are also animals, and on the day of Yom Kippur, the scapegoat received the sins of the people and then was to be taken out and never seen again. Do you know how some parks have “no feeding” signs? We need to know that, too. No feeding the scapegoat, or it will come back for more.
The past sins are past. In Jesus, they’re taken away. All those negative things from the past, that guilt or regret – stop dwelling on them. When you dwell on them, you’re feeding that scapegoat. Stop feeding that temptation, and it will go away.
If it’s been given to Jesus, it’s gone. Stop feeding the scapegoat with all your sins or the sins of others. Remember when you’re tempted to dwell on them, that in the Lord there’s a big sign: No Feeding the Scapegoat.
Who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. Galatians 1:4
Today, commit to giving no food to any thought that is not of God – no feeding of any temptation, fear, anger, pride, gloom, regret, or any other goat in your life.
Walk daily with God at your side!
Love always,
Ed
