The Cherubim Sword

11 Oct

The Cherubim Sword…

After the fall of man, it is written that the Lord stationed cherubim with a flaming sword to guard the way of the Tree of Life. What does that mean?

Most people think it means the cherubim and sword are there to prevent anyone from approaching the Tree of Life. There is truth to this, but it’s not the final truth. It also means that you can approach the Tree of Life, but only if you walk through the cherubim and the sword.

The only way to eternal life is through the sword, through dying. When Jesus opened up the way to life, He did so by passing through the flaming sword–through death, through judgment, through the cross.

So the cross is the sword of the cherubim! If you want to partake of the Tree of Life and all the blessings thereof, follow Jesus. Pass through the sword, the cross; die to yourself and let go of your old life.

Because the cross isn’t an end, it’s a beginning that opens up the way to peace, hope, and joy. The way of the cross is access to the Tree of Life!

Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23

Follow Jesus through the sword of the cherubim. Follow the way of God, even when it means the dying of the flesh, the ego, and the old man – and you’ll find life on the other side.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The Ancient Proverb and America

10 Oct

The Ancient Proverb and America…

The Book of Proverbs says, “Righteousness exalts a nation – but sin is a reproach to any people.” America has known unprecedented greatness, not because of its abilities but because of goodness – in its ideals and purpose.

This proverb has held true in that God has blessed America more than any other nation in history. Yet, the second part is true as well: ‘sin is a reproach to any people.’ So as America ceases to follow the ways of God, it also will cease to be great.

That’s because true greatness comes from goodness. This is as true for people as it is for nations. We often think of greatness in terms of achieving and expanding. We seek to expand our bank accounts, careers, influence, ministries, or reputations.

But that’s backwards. You want greatness? Then seek goodness. If you want to live a great life, get your eyes off of status, influence, and possessions – and focus on the kingdom of God. Live a life of righteousness, integrity and godliness. Forget about being great. Be good instead; for goodness is greatness.

For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. Ephesians 5:9

Today, don’t seek to lift yourself up, to make yourself known. Seek to do what is right no matter what the cost. And you will find greatness.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Removing the Berlin Wall

9 Oct

Removing The Berlin Wall…

The Berlin wall was such a powerful symbol, a monument of oppression and division of the world. A believer was led to pray for the removal of the wall when he heard a voice of the Spirit saying “I said don’t just pray, but say to the mountain you shall be removed.”

At first he prayed alone, then with other believers speaking to the wall to be removed in the name of the Lord. The wall of communism came down. When we think of walls, we think of obstacles not of objects to speak to.

For 2000 years the Jewish people have been talking to the wall, so we have to learn to talk to our walls. Do you have a wall in your life? Walls of anger, failure, bad relationships and bad habits?

Stop accepting these as walls and begin to speak to it. If we can talk to the mountain, then we can talk to the wall. If that wall is blocking God’s purpose, tell it “Be thou removed,” and it will surely be removed.

The process of declaring and decreeing the Word of God will surely begin to work in your life.

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Mark 11:23

Find your wall that is blocking God’s purpose in your life today and in prayer speak to that obstacle to be removed in God’s name.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Seeking The More of God

8 Oct

Seeking The More of God…

No matter how hard you try, you cannot rationally understand the Trinity. God is singular, God is plural, God is one. God is more. That’s the point.

Whatever you know of Him, He’s more. However good you think He is, He’s even better. He cannot be contained by a word, by thought or by trying to figure Him out.

You think God is one, God is three, God is more. He’s more than you can comprehend. The only way to contain Him is to overflow with more-ness; overflowing abundance.

After years of knowing, Paul writes, “That I might know Him.” There is always more. When you think you know all of Him, that’s when you stop knowing Him. When you realize how awesome He is, there’s so much more. That’s when you start knowing Him.

He’s more incredible, more forgiving, more patient, more glorious than you can dream of. Don’t ever give up. Seek more of Him, there’s more joy, more power. You are more than a conqueror. He’s always more than you think, and that is more than wonderful.

The Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son 1 John 5:8-10

Seek to find more of God today, more of His presence, more of His love, all the more of Him you don’t know yet.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The War of The Archay

7 Oct

The War of The Archay…

I want to show you something really cool that can give you victory every day of your life. It’s in scripture: the keys of victory–spiritual warfare, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against rulers” (Eph. 6:12).

In Greek, the word for rulers is “archay.” You see it in archbishop, archeology, archetype. It means the first things, the principle thing, the beginning.

You want to have victory over sin? Fight the arches, war against them, against the beginning of sin: the first inkling, the first thought, the first appearance of it, when you are being tempted, the very first thing.

Don’t let it go and give it room. Then at the end you’re fighting against something very big. Fight at its beginning. That’s the key. That’s when you’ll have the victory.

The arch of doubt–fight it when it first comes in, when it’s a little thought. Fight sin at its first sight, before you get to it and you will be successful, because we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against archayes.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

Be vigilant for the first signs of temptation before it becomes sin and fight it at the earliest sign – fight the archay.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Simplicity of Perfection

6 Oct

The Simplicity of Perfection…

Einstein saw his Theory of Relativity not as complicated, but simple. He believed that the simple and beautiful would be the truth.

That is true of God. Sin is complicated. Righteousness is simple. Lies are complex; truth is simple. God isn’t complicated, nor is Jesus or salvation. God is infinite, but simple. Jesus’s love is deep, but simple.

Salvation is endless, but simple. In Hebrew, perfection is “tamim,” but it also means simple. It speaks of the Passover Lamb who was without blemish. Perfect faith is not complicated, it’s simple.

We get into complicated systems, thoughts and emotions, but it’s not of God. The perfect heart is not a complicated heart, it’s a simple heart, loving and joyful. The perfect subject and focus is not complicated, but a simple one. The focus is God.

Seek good, not evil, that you may live.
Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you,
just as you say he is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph. Amos 5:14-15

Come back to the simplicity of your faith, my friend, to God, the simplicity of life in God. You don’t need complicated issues. You need the love of God. He is perfect, and it’s that simple.

Take steps to simplify your life today, find your joy at the feet of Jesus and remove those things that take away from His presence.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Worthless

5 Oct

The Worthless…

A name of Satan in the Bible is Belial. It’s the Hebrew word for Bel-ya-al which means worthless. The devil isn’t just evil, he’s worthless. Evil is worthless. Sin isn’t just sin, it’s worthless.

The more you sin, the more it takes away your worth as a believer. It wastes your life, your time, your thoughts, your energy, and your walk. It takes you away from what you could and should be doing. The enemy wants to make your life worthless; to nullify your calling.

When you are sinning, you are not serving God or spreading salvation. You’re not praising or glorifying Him. You’re missing your calling, wasting your life–it’s worthless. Sin is not only a waste, but waste is a sin.

When we spend hours in front of the TV or watching that questionable entertainment, we could have been spending time with the Lord or reading the Word or serving Him. It’s a waste, a sin, its Belial. Stop wasting your life.

The Lord gave His life so your life will be worth something. It is, if you spend it with Him. Everything else is of the devil.

Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12

What sin is still in your life? Realize today that it’s a total waste of your life and time. Rid yourself of it – and anything else that wastes your life.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

The God of Wounded Knees

4 Oct

The God of Wounded Knees…

When you were a kid and skinned your knees, you went to your mother because she would be very gentle with you; she would take water, and disinfectant to clean the wound. When you pulled away, she’d say you have to let me touch it if you want it to be better.

God loves us more than a mother; a mother’s love is only a shadow of His love. God’s love isn’t just love, it’s a love that heals. In life, we fall, we get wounded by others.

We may have wounds of rejection, of being abandoned or hurt by others, wounds of divorce or of never having received love or of being cut down continuously. These wounds stay with us.

Isaiah 1 says you are filled with wounds not pressed out or bandaged. God is more than a mother and you need to run to Him. Bring the wounds to Him. Spill your soul, God wants to touch and to bless.

You have to let Him touch it once and for all and you will find healing. The only thing that brings healing is the love of God. Run to God and be healed.

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. Matthew 4:23

Bring every hurt, wound, rejection, whatever pain you carry, to the Lord. Pour out your heart to Him. Let healing come.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Bread Man

3 Oct

The Bread Man…

Joseph is a foreshadow of Jesus. Like Jesus, Joseph is rejected by his brothers, he descends to the depths, and is raised up and given a new name. Pharaoh called him, Zephenath-paneah, the bread of life or the bread man.

Joseph was the bread man when Egypt was in a famine. Joseph gave them bread. Remember, Joseph is the shadow of Jesus. The rabbis even called him Messiah, Son of Joseph, or Ben Yosef. Jesus, like Joseph, is the bread man.

If we spend too much time away from Yeshua, we grow weak; like having no bread. He’s the only one who can fill our souls. If you haven’t been spending much time with Jesus, you are not just missing time with the Lord, but missing time with the Bread Man, and your soul is not full.

Turn back to the Bread of our lives. Spend time in His presence. Taste and see that the Lord is good. He’s not only the Lord, He’s the Bread Man; the Bread of Life–the Bread of your life. Away from Him, you can’t help but be empty. Draw near to Him, my friend, and be filled.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35

Draw ever closer to Jesus and be filled with His presence, and fill yourself up with the Bread of His presence.

Walk daily with God at your side!

The Capital City Faith

2 Oct

The Capital City Faith…

Why did Jesus die and rise in Jerusalem? Jerusalem is the capital city, the center of Israel, and of everything Jewish.

It’s the center of the Law; of the worship of God. It was the center of offerings, sacrifices and gifts. It was the center of the priesthood. Jerusalem was connected to every part of Israel because it was the center, and every part of Israel was connected to Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is the center of world news; of world history. It’s the center of really everything. Jesus died and rose in Jerusalem because Jerusalem is the center, and Jesus is the central figure of history and the central event of eternity.

This central fact has to be the center of our lives. It took place in Jerusalem to tell us it’s the center. It has to be the center of our hearts. There’s only one center, Jesus crucified and risen. It all happened in Jerusalem.

Whatever is there, that’s the center. Come back to Calvary, because when the center becomes your center, then everything else in your life will fall into place.

“We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!” Matthew 20:18-19

Today make the central fact of God’s love for you, the Cross, the center of your day, your heart, your emotions, and everything you do.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed
