Of Mountains and Valleys

Of Mountains and Valleys…

In the ancient writings you’ll find an amazing thing. The rabbis spoke of two Messiahs. One they called Maschiach ben David who would subdue the nations and reign on David’s throne in glory forever. The other they called Maschiach ben Yosef who would come humbly, suffer and die for sins.

It’s clear in the Bible that there’s only one Jesus. He’s both glorious and humble, and victorious and suffering. Only one person sums all that up — Jesus of Nazareth.

If Jesus were only glorious and victorious, then it would be hard for Him to identify with us or us with Him. He’s also the Jesus of suffering and rejection, loneliness and sorrow. So whatever you’re going through you’ve got a Jesus for that too.

You’ve got someone who can identify with you and someone with whom you can identify. He’s doubly good. He’s not just Jesus for one part of your life, but for all. So whatever you’re going through, He’s going through it with you. Lean on His shoulders in your sorrows and He’ll share His blessings with you in His joy.

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9

Give your best to God today and also bring Him your worst today. Either way, He’s with you.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed
