The Sword Of Gideon 2

The Sword of Gideon 2…

In the account of Gideon, we learn the power of broken pitchers. When Gideon’s men smashed their vessels, the light of their torches shone forth and they were given the victory.

In the Gospels, we learn the power of broken containers, as a broken vessel of ointment is poured out to anoint Jesus.

In the ministry of Jesus, we learn the power of broken bread, as He breaks a loaf that is not nearly enough to feed the thousands who are hungry, and yet, having been broken, a miracle happens, and it does that very thing.

In the death of Jesus, we learn the power of a broken body, as He gives Himself to be sacrificed and through it He redeems the world.

What do we see in all of this? The secret of brokenness – and the awesome power of a broken vessel.

Let your will be broken for His purposes and out of your life will come the shining of His glory, the anointing of His oil, the miracle of His bread, and the power of His redemption. For there is no end to what God can do with a vessel that allows itself to be broken.

And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians 11:24

Give to God all that is broken in your life, no matter who did it or how it happened – and glorify God in your brokenness. Let God work through it.

Walk daily with God at your side!

Love always,

Ed
