But Who Are You…
Acts 19 records a dramatic scene where a chief priest and his seven sons seek to perform the same act of deliverance performed by the apostle Paul. But when they try, the demons overpower them saying, “Jesus, Yeshua I know, Paul I know, but who are you?”
Now the chief priest and his sons were apparently well known in their city. But the demonic spirits had no idea who they were. Paul, on the other hand, was largely unknown. Yet to the demonic spirits, Paul was famous. Things are very different in the spiritual and heavenly realm than they are in this world.
In the kingdom of God, the celebrities are those who are faithful to God, who do the things that no one else notices – things like being faithful in cleaning up the congregational bathrooms every week. In the Kingdom of God, the stars are the humble and the faithful.
So make it your aim to be faithful in God in every part of your life, to do what is pleasing in His sight – and you, too, will end up a celebrity in heaven.
The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground. Psalm. 147:6
Today, do what is pleasing to the Lord in faithfulness and humility.
Walk daily with God at your side!
Love always,
Ed
