Everything We Do…

Grandfather was telling us a story on how the Jewish bride danced at her wedding. In the traditional Jewish wedding, he said, before the moment of joining, the bride must circle the groom seven times. It’s a sort of dance of love, a sign that the bride is going to center her life around her bridegroom. Everything she does is, in some way, going to revolve around her beloved.

The Bible calls Jesus the Bridegroom and His followers, His bride. So in the same way that the Hebrew bride must circle her bridegroom we, the congregation must also circle her Bridegroom, her Beloved Jesus. And if you are His bride, then you need to do the same, to live your life as a dance of circles around your Beloved.

It means you revolve everything in your life around Him. You revolve your day around Him. You revolve your family and home life around Him. You revolve your work life around Him. You revolve your thought life around Him. You revolve your dreams, and hopes, and plans around Him. You revolve your life: everything you do and are, around Him. Then your life will become a beautiful dance of love from the bride around Her Beloved.

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Revelation 19:7

Revolve everything you do, say, and are around Him. Dance around your Bridegroom – Jesus.
