A House Divided

11 Aug

The Christian Church is a house divided against itself and this division could just tear what is left of the Church apart. Now that I have your attention let’s discuss it.

Christian’s believe that the Bible is God’s word and that Jesus is the only way to eternal life. All Christians believe this, yet because of disagreements over this or that, the Church has divided into denominations. We have the Baptist, Methodist, United Church of Christ, Presbyterian and many, many more. They all believe the basic fundamentals of the Christian Church. The difference is some don’t look at your neighbors as including all neighbors, some look at contraceptives as against the will of God, some think you can baptize with a sprinkling of water, and the list goes on and on.

In the Bible Jesus said love your neighbors as God has loved you, take care of the poor, needy and sick. What He didn’t say was choose those who follow what you believe and dump the rest. If we are to follow the Bible, we must follow all of it, not just the parts that make us feel good about ourselves.

What the Christian Church needs is an interdenominational revival to settle their differences and it needs to happen real soon for God is only going to take this for so long before He sends a storm our way. We need churches to start holding services together and pastors going to other churches to preach. We need all Christians working together to build a stronger Church.

It is the sound of the Christian Church failing that is waking up the unbelievers to overtake the Country. If we, as Christians want to save our Country, we need to unite and stand up as one group again. This is a Country founded on Christian beliefs, let’s all work together to unite it once again.

A house divided against itself will fall!

What do you think? Courteous comments always welcome.

I just wish wanting this could make it so, Ed. I get so frustrated because this simple message isn’t heard, grasped, or accepted. So many Christians are just too fearful, and hard-headed; they think they know it all.

I think most Christian’s would support this as a viable step towards bringing the Church together once again. I see the biggest roadblock being the Church leaders who are so adamant to keep control of their flock.

Thank you for commenting and for re-blogging.

Reblogged this on life of a female bible warrior and commented:
Please listen and think about this valid, important message Ed is sharing! Thank you, Ed, for seeing thru to a major problem in Christendom today.

One problem is the lack of intelligent understanding of Sacred Writ., the fault lies with what I have deemed cemeteries (seminaries) and what is being taught (or not). If Christians were as well schooled about their faith we wouldn’t have all the wrangling going on between brothers and sisters.

I think the ‘Wrangling’ going on is between church leaders. There are some pastors who are very controlling of their ‘flock’, but the differences could be worked out if they would just sit down and talk.
In today’s churches there are things being taught that Jesus never discussed, but the churches take as gospel because they think it is what God wants. God gave us free will for a reason, and He also gave us the Knowledge of medicine so we could take better care of our bodies. He gave us instructions to love our neighbors as He loves us, He never isolated the LGBT community as outside of His love, yet so many churches refuse them. Abortion is not ever mentioned in the Bible, yet the ‘church’ has taken a stand on it.
The Church resides inside each and every Christian’s heart and we meet for fellowship in a building. The denominational leaders really need to sit down and discuss their differences to bring the real Christian meaning back to all of us.

      Thank you for your comment.
